Gavin Newsom Is Crushing Ron DeSantis As Sean Hannity Helplessly Watches

Last edited Fri Dec 1, 2023, 04:41 AM - Edit history (1)

Sean Hannity is trying to tilt the debate between Ron DeSantis and Gavin Newsom toward DeSantis, but Newsom is still crushing DeSantis. Border security should have been a DeSantis strength, but then Newsom did this. Governor Newsom said, “I support border security. You are trolling folks and trying to play political games so you can out-Trump Trump. How is that going for you, Ron? You are down 41 points in your own home state.

Hannity grew frustrated that he couldn’t get Newsom to buy into the Fox News framing on the border. Newsom said, “I support the $14 billion package that includes 2300 border agents. It also includes $850 million in the technology for border security. You hear nothing from Ron DeSantis. You hear nothing, Sean, I respectfully. You hear nothing from the Republican party. They play politics..

Newsom then hit DeSantis with the claim that he supported Obama’s border amnesty. DeSantis squeaked back that Newsom was lying.

Ron DeSantis has spent the debate playing hysterical culture warrior, while Gavin Newsom is the reasonable voice not jumping out of his lifted shoes and trying to scare the bejesus out of viewers. This debate is a very one sided affair and not in the way that Sean Hannity and Fox News were hoping for. DeSantis just doesn’t measure up.

I’m not watching but I chuckle at the notion that hannity and fox thought that it would turn out any other way. Desantis is a lightweight in every possible way. Of gigantic proportions.

Somebody, use your imagination here, is so desperate to knock him out of the race for good, finish him, as is happening here.

Newsom is a great surrogate for the Biden team. DeSatin is not capable of winning without cheating and bullying.

This is great news. I can't and don't care to watch.

not a 'close' friend, but a friend. We no longer speak because he knocked on my door and asked me to sign a paper in support of him running to be a school board member.

I said to him: "Would you agree with me that it is important for a school board member to be able to make wise decisions that would effect the quality of education that our schools are providing?"

"Well, of course!" he replied.

I then said, "Well, I'm afraid I cannot support your candidacy for membership on our school board. I vividly remember you campaigning and actively supporting Donald Trump to be the President. Anybody who thought that was a 'wise decision' does not get my support to be a member of our school board."

Sorry, Gavin, but by having asked 'her' to be your wife, I really do have to 'question' your ability to make 'wise decisions!'

I remember TV interviews with her during the Cane Corso case and she was not in any way the wack job she is now. Something changed and she went to the dark side. I think Gavin showed good judgement by ending that marriage and moving on. No, Gavin is not "perfect, nobody is but his abilities were on full display last night and I would definitely vote for him in the future.

I hope that Newsom is our next Obama type speaker and leader.

I worry that no one on the fence about crime rates was convinced by Newsom.

I watched a clip that was largely about the crime in Florida vs California.

Hanity was adding his view that the stats proved DeSantis right, and that the audience could see the stats being displayed.
It seemed that Newsom did not notice Hanity saying that, or just didn't respond to it.

Also, after DeSantis quoted stats by crime per a quantity of population, Newsom did not offer any such scientific sounding data backing his own claims.

I hate listening to a gravely voice debating. Robert Kennedy Jr. is excruciating to listen to and Newsom sounds just enough like that to where it worries me his voice could get worse in 5 to 9 years from now.

I love Newsom's potential.

That trait in Bill Clinton's voice must have been subtle, I don't recall it being like that.
But, I'm sure you are right, it just isn't something that was impressed on me.

As long as it doesn't progress, it's fine, and perhaps adds a charming quality.

...or if DeSantis is just flailing, but this is almost difficult to watch. You can see why DeSantis is falling far, far behind almost everyone in just about every state. He's not looking "Presidential", not even Governor material. Now, having said that, Newsom needs to be careful because I sometimes get a sense he can be a bit snark.
