This morning, the Republicans held 222 seats to the Dems 213. After Santos' expulsion, it will be 221R - 213D. They have 8 more seats. For Dems to take control they would have to grab 5 seats to make it 218D - 216R. A 4-seat gain would result in a 217-217 tie.

I'd still call this a 5-seat majority.

(I don't think it matters much actually because outside of their stupid inner squabbling over speaker votes, there aren't 4 republican representatives with the integrity to vote their conscience anyway if it means voting with democrats. Any of them with any stones were purged by the Magas like Liz Cheney.)
