Blunt Rochester does not face a top tier primary opposition that Angela Alsobrooks(MD) and Barbara Lee(CA) is facing.
John Carney(DE) has yet to announce his plans.
David Trone(MD) has a lot of money. Total Wine and More franchise.and Congressional experience.
Adam Schiff and Katie Porter(CA) are fighting to face Barbara Lee in the runoff.

(8,285 posts)I like Porter, but her endorsement of Nina Turner was a rookie mistake. Shes not ready for the Senate, imo. Id be happy with Schiff or Lee in there, though I think Schiff is in a better position going in.
Dont know the Maryland candidates.

(8,617 posts)Alsobrooks has been a fixture in Prince Georges MD politics.
Prince Georges State Attorney(2010-2018)
Prince Georges County Executive(2018-)
Trone is a wealthy businessman (Co-Owner of Total Wine and More franchise with his brother.)
Trone is currently serving as a US Representative of MD-6(Western MD).

(8,285 posts)Would hate to lose a D seat there. How does he align with typical Democratic politics? I grew up and lived in Maryland for 35+ years. Moved out to Indiana in 2004 for my wifes job I miss living in Maryland!!!

(68,384 posts)Alsobrooks is the more attractive candidate but Trone is all in with gobs of money. To hear the ads, he is the most progressive politician to ever breathe air. Personally, I find him a bit oily but I can vote for him if he's the candidate.
As a party, we'd be better off with him defending his current seat and leave the Senate seat to Alsobrooks, who currently holds no office.
