I wouldn't want to be anywhere near if it had struck on land. Hope the tsunamis are minimal.

7.6 is a disaster for the way some of the structures are built there.

Here's hoping the damage and human suffering are minimal.

...where I spent most of the time when there.
I felt a few shakes on different visits & don't remember the magnitudes, but nothing even remotely like this one.

He is near Iloilo on the island of Panay which is a few islands away from the epicenter. I am sure he is fine.

Apparently there was no damage even in areas close to the epicenter. Also the tsunami warning was canceled. Surprising given the strength of this quake.
