Another sign that saving democracy will be an important issue in the 2024 election: Trump .
Is trying to preempt our effective use of it as an issue by claiming that "Biden is trying to destroy democracy."
Trump's political instincts are sharp as ever, but his judgement is flawed (perhaps due to desperation).
The issue can't work for him because we all know the facts (Who tried to steal the last election? In how many ways? Who fomented an insurrection? Whose lie failed in court over 60 times? Who suggested we suspend the Constitution? Who wanted political opponents jailed? Etc.) and undecided voters know the facts.
But everyone needs to be reminded, not just of the facts but about the stakes to democracy, and since Trump cannot use the issue effectively, I say we should push it with bumper-stickers ("Vote for Democracy" ) and buttons ("2024: Year of Democracy" ), and so on. Maybe marches, like on the 4th of July,
Let's make 2024 The Year of Democracy!
