Top 10 Conservative Idiots #15-15: I'm Not Going To Woke Disneyland Edition

Welcome back to the Top 10 Conservative Idiots! Yoooooooooooooooooooooo!!! What’s up Santa Ana, how you guys doing? You doing fucking good? Great! You know what, folks? This is our 7th year anniversary of doing this thing! Yeah how about that? No, we don’t have a big shinding planned or anything, and if you haven’t seen our 5th anniversary special, definitely check it out here. But it has been quite the wild ride since we started this thing over 7 years ago, and conservative idiocy seems to be getting that much worse. And as we said last week, we’ll keep bringing you the free funny as long as we possibly can, because we need it! But that being said, this is our final regular Top 10 of the year. Next week we call it a season then we’re out for the holidays with our big annual Year In Review edition, and trust us when we say it’s going to be a fun one! Do we have time for the thing? Of course we do! OK we may have to do a deep dive on this in a future edition, but did you know that last Saturday was the final KISS show ever? Yes the Knights In Satan’s Service are finally hanging up their crystal boots and face paint for good and singing “I wanna rock and roll all night” for what may be the last time ever. But they’re not done yet. Apparently they are going to have their next tour in… the metaverse! That’s right – they are becoming virtual images of themselves! Yeah thank you sir, that’s exactly the reaction I was looking for! Just a big fat “meh”. Two things – one, does anybody actually give a shit about the metaverse? And two – remember when things used to just end? And then we would move onto the next thing? It seems that people have forgotten about how endings are actually supposed to work. So yeah KISS is another one of those franchises that may never die. There’s money to be made in them there hills! OK that’s enough of the intro, we have a lot of idiocy to get to, but first John Oliver is back and he does a deep dive into the organ donation industry and it’s about what you would expect:

So where do we begin this week? Well in the number one slot this week is George Santos (1), and here’s a pro tip for everyone, including our MAGA lurkers – live your life in such a way that you aren’t the first Congress person expelled in 162 years. Can you do that? Good! In the second slot this week, we have to bring you highlights from the Gavin Newsom – Ron DeSantis debate (2) and seeing DeSantis get destroyed while his boss Sean Hannity watches and attempted to rig the debate was an absolute thing of beauty! You really suck at this, Fox News! In the number 3 slot this week is our old buddy Tommy Tuberville (3) and this week - he finally caved on his boorish behavior regarding America's military and released holds on hundreds of promotions. Now if we could just get him fired from the Senate, that would be for the best! Taking the number 4 seed, is Moms For Liberty (4). Yes, the cofounder of the Real Housewives Of The Third Reich is in some hot water after a threesome comes back to bit them in the ass. You know, what is it with MAGA republicans and kinky sex crimes? It seems like they certainly attract a type! In the number 5 slot this week, we’re playing that hot new game that’s sweeping the nation: IS IT RACIST (5) and specifically we have to talk about Elon’s Twitter / X ad placement that’s costing him tons of ad revenue and his increasing use of white supremacist language. And you know what we always say around here is that if you have to ask, it’s probably racist! Taking the number 6 slot this week is of course our weekly visit to the Holy Church Of The Top 10 in “Holy Shit” (6) and this week our resident pastor has figured out that the year of our LAWRD 2023 can be accurately summed up in one word, and you won’t believe what that one word is! In the number 7 slot this week we have a new “Beating A Dead Horse” (7) and as you know, last week, we lost one of the greatest first ladies of all time when Rosalynn Carter passed, but of course Melania had to be different at the funeral, which was causing the MAGA world to swoon over her. So for the MAGAs, we need to teach you some proper funeral etiquette, which nobody on the right displayed this week. In the number 8 slot this week is a new Conspiracy Corner, and yes, Moms For Liberty is back in the news, and they’re taking their fight against books and independent thought to a tradition that every elementary school student in the last 50 years is familiar with: The Scholastic Book Fair. Hands off our book fairs, you fascist thugs! In the number 9 (NEIN!!!) slot this week, we have a new People Are Dumb, because of course they are! Finally this week it’s time for Round 8 of our never ending battle between Red State governors and Blue State governors in My Governor Is An Idiot (10) and this week it’s another Beltway Battle as we pit Ohio’s Fox News installed governor Mike DeWine against Maryland’s Wes Moore! Plus to cap things off, we have some live music from a little band I like to call, Depeche Mode! Yay!!! Buy their new album Memento Mori or you’re no friend of this program! Enjoy! And as always don’t forget the key!

George Santos
[br]
[br]

We witnessed some history here last week, folks! Seriously, this is going to be one of those events where you will tell your children and grandchildren where you were when you opened your social media feeds and saw that George Santos, you know him as the gay drag queen from Brooklyn whose grandmother survived the Holocaust (and also died in it) among the thousands of other lies he’s told in the entire year, got his ass shit canned! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha… holy shit, this is quite the shit and clown show that the MAGAs are running here. But when I turned on my phone and saw that Santos got fired, I just about keeled over laughing for like 30 minutes straight. The mere fact that Santos even got elected in the first place proves just how not serious the MAGAs are when it comes to running the government, and how grossly unpopular they are outside of republican themed talk shows. And I love this TPUSA flyer that I saw… George Santos got fired, yet he has a 96% approval rating with people who subscribe to TPUSA. Cultists gonna cult. But when you hear the phrase “overwhelming majority”, you know what we’re going to say around here: it ain’t good!

The House voted overwhelmingly to expel indicted Rep. George Santos on Friday, pulling the curtain down on a tempestuous term in office that was marred by revelations that he’d fabricated parts of his resume, a scathing House ethics investigation and a 23-count federal indictment charging him with crimes such as wire fraud and money laundering.

The vote was 311-114, with two voting present. Santos had already put his winter jacket on, left the chamber and sped through the speaker's lobby before the vote total was announced.

"It's over," Santos said before heading to his vehicle outside the Capitol. "They just set a new, dangerous precedent for themselves," he added, noting that he's the first House member in modern history to be expelled before a federal conviction.

A little after 3 p.m. ET, an Architect of the Capitol worker took down the sign in front of Santos’ office, replacing it with one reading: “Office of the Third Congressional District of New York.”

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA… *holds breath* HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! Oh man… like I said before, you ever make fun of someone so much you wish you could thank them for all the good times you’ve had? That’s kind of how I feel about this. If there’s one thing we learned from the Kevin McCarthy clusterfuck is that cults don’t like independent thought and what was left of the GOP is being replaced by deranged MAGA Qultists one election at a time. And Kevin McCarthy was ousted because of the MAGA derangement about what’s going on in Ukraine. So how bad do you have to fuck up to get fired by your own party?

Santos was immediately stripped of his position as a member of Congress. The House speaker then directed the clerk to notify the governor of New York of the expulsion. That is the practice the House followed in 1980 and 2002.

New York’s 3rd Congressional District would not have a member representing it during votes until a replacement is elected, but Santos’ staff would continue helping with constituent casework.

A little after 3 p.m. ET, an Architect of the Capitol worker took down the sign in front of Santos’ office. It was replaced with one reading: “Office of the Third Congressional District of New York.”

The House has expelled only five members throughout history, three of them in 1861 for disloyalty to the Union during the Civil War by fighting for the Confederacy: John B. Clark, John W. Reid and Henry C. Burnett.

The first member to be expelled post-Civil War was Michael J. “Ozzie” Myers, D-Pa., who was voted out in October 1980 after he was convicted of bribery and corruption in the Abscam FBI sting operation.

Yeah let’s think about this here for a minute. The last time we had this happen in the entire history of the United States happened in 1861. If you do the math… that’s… 162 years. So not since the fucking Civil War has a member of Congress been fired by an overwhelming majority. Yeah heck of a job you’re running there, Fox News and MAGA. It’s almost like the MAGA movement attracts a type of boorish self-loathing serial liars. Thank you audience! And by the way I think it’s hilarious and also sad that Santos immediately went to Cameo. I mean who’s going to buy that? I know, right? But is this really going to set a precedent? Seriously nothing of value was lost here.

The first-term Republican congressman from New York could well become just the sixth member of the House to have been expelled by colleagues. Republicans and Democrats have offered resolutions to remove him, and the House is expected to vote on one of them Friday.

While Santos survived two earlier expulsion efforts, a critical House Ethics Committee report released on Nov. 16 has convinced more members that his actions merit the House’s most severe punishment.

Santos preempted the vote with a press conference just outside the Capitol early Thursday. He noted that, of the previous expulsions, three were for disloyalty to the Union during the Civil War and two were for lawmakers who had been convicted in federal court. In short, he presented himself as someone who was being treated differently.

“This will haunt them in the future where mere allegations are sufficient to have members removed from office when duly elected by their people in their respective states and districts,” Santos said.

Except that he didn’t do his job, that’s why he was fired. And all he did was go on Fox News to complain about how hard governing is. Don’t worry, we’ve got the video evidence. We still have to wonder how he got elected in the first place but that’s neither here nor there. So now that Mr. Santos is no longer representing New York’s 3rd district, what’s he going to do? We can’t exactly say that he’s going to Disneyland, because Disneyland is for woke losers, or something. But one thing we can tell you is that he's going to get revenge! He’s a MAGA insider, he’s going to give us some serious dirt. Pass the popcorn and break out the lawn chairs and beer, because this gonna be good!

George Santos has vowed to file ethics complaints against four members of the House of Representatives after the lower chamber of Congress voted to expel him in a historic vote.

On Friday, more than 100 House Republicans joined with Democrats to remove the accused fraudster in a 311-114 vote, clearing the two-thirds threshold required for the motion to pass.

Santos hit back on X, formerly Twitter, in a series of posts. He wrote that he will report four of his former colleagues, three Republicans and one Democrat, who voted against him to the Office of Congressional Ethics.

Those listed were New Jersey Democrat Rob Menendez and Republicans Nicole Malliotakis, Mike Lawler and Nick LaLota. Newsweek has reached out to the offices of Reps. Malliotakis, Lawler and LaLota by email, as well as that of Rep. Menendez by telephone and voicemail message.

Gavin Newsom Vs Ron DeSantis
[br]
[br]

You know say what you want about the governor from my home state of California and the guy who could possibly be the 47th president of the United States, Gavin Newsom. What I personally love about Gov. Newsom is that he’s not afraid to go on Fox News and tell the heavily brainwashed Fox viewer base exactly how it is. And also how it should be. But needless to say that didn’t stop Fox from not only attempting to rig the election, but to make it look like their puppet, er, guy won. But the one thing that the debate revealed was just how much Fox News has a stranglehold on the republican party. Like watching the clips, you could almost instantly tell what Desantis’ answer was going to be because Fox was trying to rig the questions for him. No, we’re not accusing Fox of rigging the debate but you know they probably had a plan for telling Desantis what to say during every question that was asked. So was it a shit show that everyone predicted it was going to be? Probably. But that said it did offer what one could call a preview of the post Biden / Trump world.

After more than 90 minutes of argument, insult, crosstalk and a few props, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and California Gov. Gavin Newsom ended their debate on Fox News on Thursday night on a lighter note, trading compliments.

But much of what came before underlined their major differences (and different debate styles) on some of the biggest issues of the day, including abortion access, crime and public safety, the economy, immigration and more.

Sean Hannity moderated -- often pleading with the two governors to spend less time talking over one another and more time answering his questions.

Here are seven takeaways from the faceoff, billed as "The Great Red vs. Blue State Debate," though it also played out as one of the two participants is running for the White House and the other is discussed as a future presidential contender.
https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/7-takeaways-ron-desantis-debate-gavin-newsom/story?id=105277405

But see look herein lies the problem – this is exactly why people are afraid to debate MAGAs and republicans. They just cannot be civil about anything. Everything usually devolves into braindead conspiracy theories and childish name calling. And also let’s not forget the “facts” that have no meaning outside of people who are glued into Fox News 24 hours a day. But this might be my personal favorite part of the whole debate – is that Newsom called out Desantis’ sagging presidential campaign and his failing poll numbers – all in front of his boss Sean Hannity, with him watching! We have to say that was quite the thing of beauty!

The California Democrat defended his state, but was equally eager to shift the discussion to DeSantis’ stagnant 2024 presidential bid.

“How’s that going for you, Ron? You’re down 41 points in your own home state,” said Newsom, who is backing Biden for president. “Neither of us will be the nominee for a party in 2024.”

The host, Fox News Channel, billed the event hosted by Sean Hannity as “The Great Red vs. Blue State Debate.” Yet it was held in a television studio with no audience in Georgia, a location chosen for its key swing-state implications in national politics. And it played out in the heart of presidential primary season with voters in both parties paying closer attention to their 2024 options heading into next fall’s general election.

As leaders of two of the three most populous states, DeSantis and Newsom have spent much of the past year poking each other’s policy choices and leadership style from afar. But on Thursday night, they got their first chance to challenge each other on the same national stage.

The real thing that was crazy about this debate is what happened off the screen. What you didn’t see when the cameras were running. Because Fox News, as we all know, is the propaganda arm of the GOP, and they sell all of the GOP’s terrible and failed policies 24 hours a day. But one thing you got to give Fox is that they are very selective of who they allow on their programs, and they definitely control what they say while they are on the air. It’s almost like they’re following a script or something. And one thing that cults don’t like – particularly the Murdoch / Trump cult of personality, is that they do not like anyone that might have an independent thought. Yeah even we were shocked when Sean Hannity agreed to host this debate.

According to four sources in the DeSantis camp — one who witnessed the moment in the room and three others who were standing backstage (where there was no press or live studio audience) — Newsom’s wife, Jennifer Siebel Newsom, came into the debate room on at least two occasions to raise some objections.

She also made her way to the stage during the break after the candidates agreed to extend the debate and put an end to it.

A fifth source on the ground, unaffiliated with either campaign, confirmed that Siebel Newsom ended the debate on her husband’s behalf, saying, “We’re done.”

“Gavin Newsom got beat so badly last night his wife literally had to throw in the towel for him. It was embarrassing,” DeSantis spokesman Andrew Romeo said.

One of Siebel Newsom's complaints centered around DeSantis’ mention of her father. DeSantis claimed that he told him he moved from California to Florida because it was better governed.
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2024-election/gavin-newsom-fox-debate-rcna127563

So now the question is who really won the debate? Again that entirely depends on who you watch and listen to because the answers will vary drastically. And we’re not done harping on Fox for attempting to rig this debate either. Because Fox immediately went into damage control mode after the debates had ended. And the results are well, exactly what you’d expect coming from the “We Report, You Decide” network. Actually the real slogan for Fox News should be: “You will think what we tell you to think when we tell you to think it and curse anyone who dares have an independent thought!”. Because you know critical thinking and reasoning are for losers.

If hurling insults, distorting facts, and pandering to Americans’ worst instincts are the hallmarks of leadership, then Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis emerged the winner in the debate with California Gov. Gavin Newsom.

In a 90-minute debate with Fox News host Sean Hannity as moderator, DeSantis launched blistering attacks on his opponent, calling him a habitual liar and a “slick and slippery politician.” He said Newsom shields himself from his state’s failures by sending his children to private school and dining at the exclusive French Laundry restaurant while his state was on pandemic lockdown.

Among his more preposterous claims were that Los Angeles is in a state of “collapse” and that California knowingly exposes its schoolchildren to books depicting lurid sex acts. He even took out a map purporting to show that almost the entire city of San Francisco is sullied with human feces.

Tommy Tuberville
[br]
[br]

Hey Tommy Tuberville, you spent four months selling out the military to please your Fox News bosses and you got absolutely nothing out of it! What are you going to do to celebrate? Well, I guess for him, going to Disneyland isn’t in his celebration plans, because Disneyland is woke, or something. Yeah I can see that ad now! I'm not going to Woke Disneyland, fuck all y'all! Well the last few editions, we’ve been reporting about his absolutely evil plans to hold up military promotions because… abortion or something. I don’t know, it’s getting increasingly more difficult to keep up with their bullshit. Which really makes us wonder – how the hell did this guy not only get elected to the Senate but single handedly proceeds to completely fuck up the military as much as possible? Oh yeah he's a product of the Fox multi-level marketing firm. Yeah you watch that shit enough and go on their shows enough, you can think you’re a senator without actually having to do the work of a senator! Such is the case with our old buddy Mr. Tuberville here. And you know what else we need to do? We need to investigate Fox News’ role in this, because you know that Sean Hannity was pulling his strings through all of this. But really this whole exercise can be summed up in five words: “Do not fuck with us”. It wasn’t about Trump or anything else, it was about sending a message. And that was the message they were sending. Fox News is going full authoritarian whether we want it or not, and this will be another one of those messages.

Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) announced Tuesday that he is ending his months-long blockade on hundreds of military promotions.

Tuberville said he is jumping on board with an idea presented by Sens. Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) and Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) that would release all of his holds on military officers at the 3-star level and below.

A hold will remain in place for the roughly 10 nominations for 4-star generals and officers.

“I am not going to hold the promotions of these people any longer. We just released them,” Tuberville told reporters after informing Senate Republicans of his decision.

At issue for Tuberville was a Pentagon policy, enacted last year, allowing service members to be reimbursed for travel to receive abortion care.
https://www.nbc4i.com/hill-politics/tuberville-releasing-hold-on-hundreds-of-military-promotions/amp/

Yeah that’s exactly what it’s like. Our country is currently being held hostage by Fox News and Sean Hannity. But here’s what is really fucked up about this whole thing is that conservatives like Tuberville just can’t help themselves to a serving of that sweet Fox News pie. Even though they talk a lot of shit about that network, they will not resist the next 200 chances to appear on Hannity or any other shitty right wing talk show host TV show or podcast. It’s their vice and their addiction. So what does Tuberville do immediately after running away with his tail between his legs? That’s right – he goes on Sean Hannity to talk about how the military is the weakest he’s ever seen it. To which he forgot to add “All thanks to me, suckers!”.

Alabama Republican Senator Tommy Tuberville has described the U.S. military as the weakest it has ever been during his lifetime, which he blames on wokeness being implemented under the Biden administration.

Speaking to Newsmax's Eric Bolling, Tuberville criticized the $114 million requested by the Pentagon for its diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA) programs for the fiscal year 2024. The senator also spoke of the now-repealed COVID-19 vaccine mandate for all serving service members, as another reason why the U.S. military is a complete disaster.

The comments from Tuberville, who sits on the Senate Armed Services Committee but has never served in the military, have been criticized. The senator is blocking hundreds of military nominations and promotions in protest at a Pentagon policy of reimbursing travel costs for service members seeking an abortion. The policy was put in place in the wake of the Supreme Court voting to overturn Roe vs. Wade in June 2022.

"$114 million on diversity training, you've got to be kidding me," Tuberville said on Eric Bolling The Balance.

"We've got the weakest military that we've had in probably my lifetime," Tuberville added. "Infiltrating our military is all this wokeness, and it's coming from the top, coming from Joe Biden, coming from Secretary of Defense [Lloyd] Austin. It's coming from [former Joint Chiefs Chair General Mark] Milley, who is recently gone. It's a disaster.
https://www.newsweek.com/tommy-tuberville-weakest-us-military-disaster-1847398

Yeah what a truly colossal asshole! Seriously, how does a stupid dumb fuck football coach with zero government experience whatsoever get elected to being the fucking senator from Alabama? Oh that’s right – he watched Fox News 24 hours a day for 15 years and they convinced him that he could run for senate and replace someone who’s actually qualified! Hey Fox, you are NOT ENTITLED TO THE GOVERNMENT! IT IS NOT YOURS! IT IS OURS. Get the fuck out now and get over yourselves! Thank you audience! But the good news is that the Senate is very quickly working to run through all the promotions that have been blocked the last several months because of this right wing propaganda bullshit.

The Senate confirmed more than 400 military nominees Tuesday afternoon after Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., announced he would drop the bulk of his holds, ending a monthslong campaign.

Tuberville told reporters earlier Tuesday that he had lifted his hold on all military promotions at three-star rank and below, amounting to over 425 promotions.

“I’m releasing everybody. I still got a hold on, I think, 11 four-star generals. Everybody else is completely released from me.” Tuberville told reporters. “But other than that, it’s over.”

Hours later, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., took to the Senate floor to confirm all 425 of those nominees unanimously, saying members of the military and their families "can breathe a sigh of relief."
https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/congress/sen-tommy-tuberville-drops-hold-hundreds-military-nominees-rcna128138

But here’s the thing – this certainly isn’t the first time Fox News has tried to deliberately fuck with our government and it certainly won’t be the last time either. Yes, Tuberville, with the aide of Sean Hannity, held our military hostage in a time of crisis because Fox News has a sad that their bloviating orange man baby dictator isn’t in charge. Especially since there’s the conflict with Israel and Hamas, and we still can’t forget Russia and Ukraine. So while this battle was one – and we should be celebrating, the war against the Fox occupation of our government definitely isn’t over. But as we say around here, even the smallest gains like this should be considered a major victory considering what we’re up against!
Hundreds of military nominees were confirmed unanimously on the Senate floor Tuesday just hours after Alabama's Tommy Tuberville announced he was ending his hold on most promotions.

It took just a matter of minutes to push more than 400 nominees through -- a long-awaited breakthrough after Tuberville's 10-month blockade over the Pentagon's abortion policies.

Jack Reed, D-R.I., the chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, said on social media that the official number of confirmations was 425.

Tuberville, a Republican, earlier Tuesday told reporters he was lifting his hold on all positions except for four-star generals, clearing the way for many of stalled military appointments to be confirmed en bloc.

Moms For Liberty
[br]
[br]

If you’re not alarmed by the Christian nationalists getting elected to school boards with the intent of ruining your child’s education in favor of partisan political bullshit from sources like Brave Books and Prager U, then you’re not paying close enough attention. And pay attention to every race and every candidate before you vote in every election. Because you never know who’s running for some offices and they could turn out to be partisan extremists. You may even have some in your school boards and city councils right now. Case in point: Moms For Liberty. They may have lost big in the 2023 midterm elections this year, but they’re still infecting our school boards. They say that they don’t have plans to stop now. But the news that broke this week might actually stop them. And by the way, I just want to preface by saying that we are in absolutely no way, shape or form shocked by this news. In fact we probably could have seen it coming a mile away. In case you’re wondering what I am talking about, the founder of Moms For Liberty, Bridget Zeigler, was caught doing something really naughty with someone, and it just goes to show that churches are like mullets. Business in the front, party in the back! But anyway enough of my rambling, here’s more:

Moms for Liberty co-founder Bridget Ziegler's admission to having a sexual relationship with the woman accusing her husband of rape has sparked backlash online Saturday, with many labeling the Florida political leader a hypocrite.

Bridget Ziegler's husband, Christian Ziegler, is the head of the Florida Republican Party and is currently embroiled in a sexual assault investigation. On Friday, it was reported that an unnamed woman claiming to be a friend of the Zieglers filed a report with the Sarasota Police in early October claiming that Christian Ziegler had come to her apartment and raped her, after a planned threesome between the victim and the couple fell through after Bridget Ziegler became busy at the last minute.

Christian Ziegler and his attorney have denied any wrongdoing on his part, but security footage obtained from the victim's apartment has shown that he was at the building on the date of the alleged assault. Admissions to law enforcement from his wife have also complicated the matter.

As revealed in recently released court documents, Bridget Ziegler was interviewed by investigators in early November, confirming that she, her husband, and the victim had been friends and had engaged in a consensual sexual encounter roughly a year prior to the assault that the victim now alleges.
https://www.newsweek.com/moms-liberty-co-founder-admitting-threesome-sparks-backlash-1849054

OK… OK… OK… OK. I have so many questions. So let me get this straight – the people who are on this absolutely psychotic warpath to remake education in the Lord’s image and to police, er, bring “morality” into the classroom because, reasons, is really a sexual deviant when the cameras are turned off and the doors are closed? I’m absolutely shocked by this! Shocked, I tell you! If only these people would admit to their shortcomings and not try to hide it, this world might be a better place. But that’s a very big “might” there. Yeah concerned parents, my ass!

Florida Republican Party Chairman Christian Ziegler is currently under investigation by the Sarasota Police Department, his attorney Derek Byrd confirmed to CBS News.

Byrd did not specify the exact allegations against Ziegler, but in response to a CBS News question about Ziegler's charges, the Sarasota Police Department returned a heavily redacted police report that mentions an accusation of rape and sexual battery that allegedly occurred on Oct. 2 in the city.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis called on Ziegler to resign as state party chair late Thursday night.

"I don't see how he can continue with that investigation ongoing, given the gravity of those situations," DeSantis told reporters in Alpharetta, Georgia, after his Fox News debate with California Gov. Gavin Newsom. "And so I think that he should, I think he should step aside."

Yeah why am I not surprised in the least that Florida is involved in this story? And this guy is the head of the Florida GOP too! Yes, the very same Florida GOP that elected the biggest morality crusader of them and continues to support him no matter how terrible of a politician he is, Ron DeSantis. But here’s the thing – is this really going to reshape Florida politics? Easy answer to that question: NO! Because we all know that Trump certainly attracts a type, and that type is psychotic morality crusaders who want to police morality, but they themselves are freaks between the sheets!

A local Moms for Liberty chapter in Pennsylvania became the first to sever ties with the national organization, as its co-founder’s husband, Florida GOP Chairman Christian Ziegler, faces rape allegations.

The Moms for Liberty chapter in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, announced it was breaking from the national organization following the rape allegations against co-founder Bridget Ziegler’s husband, Christian.

Police in Sarasota opened a rape investigation against Ziegler in October after a woman reported the Republican politician raped her after she cancelled a planned consensual sexual encounter with the couple, according to an affidavit obtained by the Miami Herald.

According to the affidavit, Bridget Ziegler confirmed to investigators that she “had a sexual encounter with the victim and Christian over a year ago.”

Northumberland County’s chair, Clarissa Paige, told Forbes the national organization’s “controversies and lack of assistance posed more obstacles than aid.”

Yeah come on, like this is really going to change things. I just wish Moms For Liberty would get the hell out of our school boards and stay out! Nobody asked for, nobody likes, and nobody wants their bullshit, and these candidates are terrible and their ideas are terrible. The good news is that people are waking up to the dangers of groups like Moms For Liberty. The fact that they held a rally at a Trump organization with the bloviating asshole himself in attendance should raise alarms for anybody. So keep digging that hole guys. This is just one of many accusations to come!

Jane Cramer, a mother from Bucks County, Pennsylvania, explained to Salon earlier this year that she felt good about the ragtag team she'd helped assemble to boot Moms for Liberty, the well-funded conservative parents’ rights group, off of her local school board. "We're not organized in the best ways necessarily, but it kind of all fell into place,” Cramer told me. “And we're all obsessed a little bit.”

Last month, I published an investigative report about how Moms for Liberty, a group dedicated to rewiring American education toward the far right, had taken over the board of education in the Pennridge School District, about half an hour outside Philadelphia. Moms for Liberty, a heavily funded astroturf organization linked to GOP leadership, wasn't especially subtle in its strategies, pinpointing a handful of swing districts in purple states, like Virginia and Pennsylvania, and targeting school board elections, which are usually low turnout and easy to win. Once installed, Moms for Liberty members started banning books and Pride flags, as well as protesting that teachers were "grooming" kids with "smut," which usually meant either a history book or acclaimed, age-appropriate fiction. The idea was to create moral panics around sex and race that could tip national elections towards Republicans.

....(snip)....

By the time this election rolled around, Moms for Liberty seemed to have already realized their brand had become poisonous. As the Daily Beast reported, "In 2021, Moms for Liberty claimed credit for 33 seats in Bucks County," but in this election cycle, the group "endorsed only a single candidate in the county." The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that some Republican candidates wanted the group to keep its distance, fearful of the taint. And that was my sense of things in the Pennridge district this fall. School board members who had links to Moms for Liberty tried to downplay it and ended up getting outed by investigators from the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). ...............(more)

Is It Racist?
[br]
[br]

Hey everyone, it’s time to play that hot new game that’s sweeping the nation!

Because we always say around here that if you have to ask, it’s probably racist! So as you know, if you follow our social media accounts, the Top 10 has taken a temporary ban on covering anything relating to the Isreal – Palsestine conflict because it’s such a divisive issue and everything that’s coming out of Isreal – Palestine right now is absolutely horrifying. As we say around here – it ain’t good. Well of course leave it to American conservatives to stick their nose where it doesn’t belong. And one guy in particular is a guy who you know as the CEO of Tesla, SpaceX, and TwitterX, and guy who thinks his online friends are his real friends, Elon Musk. Yes, ol’ Muskrat as we call him around the Top 10 Home Offices, has been placing ads for companies such as Google, Microsoft, the NFL, Apple, IBM, the list goes on. Last week, we talked about how Elon was planning to sue Media Matters after they dug up some of his Nazi tweets and that’s not going well for him. And neither will this. But needless to say Elon’s in a lot of hot water over the way that ads are being placed on that site formerly known as Twitter. For the sake of this piece, why don’t we call it a “Tweet For A Twat”. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha…. I can totally see the Twitter logo taking a shit on Elon! So who’s jumping ship? Well it’s a very long list that only keeps getting longer and we can only hope this sends a message that playing with Nazis is not OK. But it’s a step in the right direction.

Why it matters: The move follows Musk's endorsement of antisemitic conspiracy theories as well as Apple ads reportedly being placed alongside far-right content. Apple has been a major advertiser on the social media site and its pause follows a similar move by IBM.

The big picture: Musk faced backlash for endorsing an antisemitic post Wednesday, as 164 Jewish rabbis and activists upped their call to Apple, Google, Amazon and Disney to stop advertising on X, and for Apple and Google to remove it from their platforms.

The left-leaning nonprofit Media Matters for America published a report Thursday that highlighted Apple, IBM, Amazon and Oracle as among those whose ads were shown next to far-right posts.

State of play: Musk posted to X on Wednesday "[y]ou have said the actual truth" in response to an X post that claimed Jewish communities support "dialectical hatred against whites."

That drew widespread condemnation, including from the White House. "It is unacceptable to repeat the hideous lie behind the most fatal act of Antisemitism in American history at any time, let alone one month after the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust," White House spokesperson Andrew Bates said in a statement.
https://www.axios.com/2023/11/17/apple-twitter-x-advertising-elon-musk-antisemitism-ads

Gee, you think? And I don’t even need to get into the specifics of Elon’s suit with Media Matters because we covered that last week. And we’re very glad that the NFL is taking a stand against Elon’s madness because it’s something that just should not stand. To quote the Dude – this aggression will not stand, man! And hey remember the Damar Hamlin conspiracy from earlier this year (see: Idiots #14-2 )? Yeah the conspiracy theorist lunatics are still at it, and the theories are only getting nuttier. Seriously there’s no end to their madness and we’re glad the NFL is taking a stand against it.

On Wednesday, MediaMatters.org reported that Twitter, now known as X, placed NFL ads on the accounts of multiple white nationalists. On Thursday, the NFL responded.

“NFL unequivocally denounces any form of hate speech and has absolutely no association with these individuals or any group that promotes racism,” chief NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told PFT via email. “As soon as this was brought to our attention, we immediately expressed our concerns to X to understand and rectify the issue.”

One of the accounts belongs to a streaming host who has suggested that Bills safety Damar Hamlin died from a reaction to the COVID vaccine, and that he’s currently being portrayed by an actor. That same host has also, per MediaMatters.org, called for the execution of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift over Kelce’s recent promotion of the COVID vaccine.

Just last week, NFL chief media and business officer Brian Rolapp praised Twitter/X CEO Linda Yaccarino for “doing great work innovating to make the platform better for [NFL] fans and partners.”

So audience we ask the question: IS IT RACIST??? And the answer? Oh most definitely! But here’s the thing – you have 10 Nazis at a table and one person who isn’t a Nazi is silent, what do you have? You have 11 Nazis. Because as we always say around here, silence is compliance! Hey that rhymes! The other question on the table though – is should a company that previous had ties to Nazi Germany suddenly try to whitewash its’ past? Hey IBM! I’m looking in your direction! And yes, IBM was one of the advertisers that fled the Twitter Shitter so at least that’s a step in the right direction, I guess?

Advertisers are fleeing social media platform X over concerns about their ads showing up next to pro-Nazi content and hate speech on the site in general, with billionaire owner Elon Musk inflaming tensions with his own posts endorsing an antisemitic conspiracy theory.

IBM, NBCUniversal and its parent company Comcast said this week that they stopped advertising on X after a report said their ads were appearing alongside material praising Nazis — a fresh setback as the platform formerly known as Twitter tries to win back big brands and their ad dollars, X’s main source of revenue.

The liberal advocacy group Media Matters said in a report Thursday that ads from Apple and Oracle also were placed next to antisemitic material on X. On Friday it said it also found ads from Amazon, NBA Mexico, NBCUniversal and others next to white nationalist hashtags.

“IBM has zero tolerance for hate speech and discrimination and we have immediately suspended all advertising on X while we investigate this entirely unacceptable situation,” the company said in a statement.

Yeah probably! Now what happens in the off chance you’re taking that chance and actually advertising your product on Elon’s Xshitter? Well social media marketing is still relevant in 2023, even though social media doesn’t have the same clout that it did in 2013, and Elon is doing his best to completely destroy one of the biggest platforms on the internet. Well Twitter/X is something that you really shouldn’t waste your company’s time or money on. It seems like the ad placement is getting a very bad reputation, and it's only getting worse. It’s basically just crap selling crap at this point.

It’s no secret that advertisers are not keen on the Twitter/X Ads platform. With limited creative, targeting, and reporting, it’s no wonder that brands choose to invest ad spend in other paid channels, such as Google, Microsoft, LinkedIn, and Meta.

The one benefit it does have is that it’s affordable – and way, way, cheaper than Google Ads and LinkedIn Ads for comparable reach.

So, if Twitter becomes a Placement on the Google Display Network (GDN), what benefits might this bring to advertisers?
Should advertisers be excited about Twitter/X being part of the GDN?

At the moment, there are no real details on what exactly this entails, beyond ads being eligible to show on the Twitter/X home feed inventory. That’s not exciting at all (from Google’s standpoint) as they already have hundreds of thousands of other sites signed up to allow ads to be placed on their web pages. And honestly, it’s not that exciting to advertisers, either.

Holy Shit
[br]
[br]

Gather around my fair brothers and sisters! It’s time to take a seat in the pew and pass the collection plate, for the Holy Church Of The Top 10 has convened and it’s time to remind you that the holiest among us are the most full of:

My fair congregation! Please be seated! You know we’re very fast approaching the end of the year of our LAWRD, 2023. And while next week, we are going to offer our annual attempt to predict what’s going to happen next year based off of things that happened this year, we have to reflect back on the year that was. And holy crap, what a year it was! But if the year of our LAWRD 2023 can be accurately summed up in one word, that word would be nationalism. Or maybe extremism. But either way, this is a year in which those of us who support the unholy, ungodly Dark One were at their absolute worst. I of course speak of a man so foul, so depraved and disgusting that his name DARE NOT be spoken in my church! But in case you’re wondering why your MAGA friends are getting more extreme and it seems like the extremist rhetoric isn’t going away, well there’s definitely a rhyme and reason for that and it’s not something that you’re going to like hearing, is that there is a rhyme and a reason for it. But as we say around here, the cruelty is the point!

Last month, Christian nationalist North Dakota State Rep. Brandon Prichard appeared on a local television program called “Ladies of Another View” where he attempted to defend his Christian nationalism by spreading misinformation and falsehoods.

Prichard appeared on the program to discuss the criticism he had received in the wake of posts he made on social media declaring that every member of Congress must “submit to the Gospel of Jesus Christ” and that “every conservative state should put into code that Jesus Christ is King and dedicate their state to Him.”

Prichard insisted that he had nothing for which to apologize because American history proves that his worldview is the same as the Founding Fathers.

“Here’s the deal,” Prichard boldly proclaimed, “history is on our side. History is on the side of the conservatives on this issue. The first thing that happened at the Constitutional Convention was what? It was Benjamin Franklin coming in front of everybody—he was actually one of the most agnostic of them all—and said that we need to plead to the heavens and pray for our country. And it was a Christian prayer; they had a Christian pastor come and say a prayer.”
https://www.rightwingwatch.org/post/north-dakota-state-rep-brandon-prichard-spreads-multiple-falsehoods-in-defense-of-his-christian-nationalism/

I……………. I……………………. just what the fuck? Do you know history? Do you know that nationalism has lost on literally every single war since the Crusades? You lost the Revolutionary War, you lost the Civil War, you lost World War II, what makes you think that nationalism is going to win this time around? I guess maybe because you subscribe to the same talk shows that the unholy Dark One also subscribes to? I mean how stupid can you get? Nationalism loses every single time, and authoritarianism and populism are even less popular! And we may have to do a deep dive on this in a future program but it’s the stuff of insanity!

Arizona state Sen. Wendy Rogers encouraged her Twitter followers Friday to follow Michigan state Rep. Josh Schriver, calling him “Michigan’s voice for MAGA.” The far-right Rogers is one of the public officials most closely associated with antisemitic white Christian nationalist Nick Fuentes.

Right Wing Watch asked on Friday whether Schriver, a member of the state Freedom Caucus, had used a local news appearance to signal support for white nationalist Nick Fuentes. RWW noted that Schriver flashed a raised index finger, a gesture that has been adopted by groypers, as followers of Fuentes and his America First movement are known. Schriver then shared a photo of his raised finger on social media, along with two hashtags often used by Fuentes backers, #ChristisKing and #AmericaFirst.

As Right Wing Watch noted, the seemingly random expression included in the text of the tweet, “Autumn is my favorite,” appeared to be a reference to Fuentes, who following multiple bans from the platform is currently using an account under the pseudonym “Autumn Groyper.”

On Sunday, Schriver quote-tweeted Sneako, another Fuentes ally.

Yeah and technically speaking, I’m going to say that there’s no such thing as Nazi adjacent. If you hang out with Nazis and nationalists, guess what? You’re a Nazi! The fact that nationalism has been so prevalent in today’s society is scary. And the fact that it’s on the rise should be alarming. In fact we’ve already done tons of sermons this year about this very subject, my fair congregation! But what’s even scarier is that some prominent nationalists are running for office, and we can’t allow them to get anywhere near any position of power under any circumstances!

Dusty Deevers is a far-right Christian nationalist Oklahoma pastor who is the Republican nominee for a seat in the state Senate, where he vows to apply “the word of God to every issue” in order to abolish abortion, pornography, and no-fault divorce and even institute the public shaming of adulterers.

Recently, Deevers appeared on a program called “The Sword and The Trowel” to promote his campaign and explain how he intends to, if elected, ensure that every aspect of government and society is brought under the authority of Jesus Christ.

“[I am] going to be applying the word of God to every issue that comes up,” Deevers promised. “We have a Constitution that is, by God’s grace, it’s upholding the word of God predominantly, so we don’t have to have them in competition with each other. So as a candidate, the biggest thing that I can bring to the table is we are going to have legislation and we’re going to have argumentation from the floor that’s based on God’s word.”

“We want to see morality brought back into government,” he continued. “I want to see pornography abolished. I want to see no-fault divorce, come back to at-fault in divorce—and even public shaming for those who are at fault in divorce. I want to see abortion abolished. These are the kinds of morality and government issues that we need to get back to.”
https://www.rightwingwatch.org/post/christian-nationalist-pastor-dusty-deevers-is-running-for-a-seat-in-the-oklahoma-senate/

Oh these people have absolutely no shame! Look, we do not want to have morality brought back into the government. And judging by what these nationalists do behind closed doors when the cameras are turned off, I don’t want their version of morality being legislated! You see, Christian churches are like mullets – business in the front, party in the back! It’s literally the first line of the Bill Of Rights, which I suggest you read some time – “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion!”. It is pure evil that they want this! And we can already see how nationalism is evil, just look at Arkansas – this is not going to end well!

Arkansas Gov. Sarah Sanders has appointed Jason Rapert, a Christian nationalist activist and former state senator to the state library board. Rapert was a zealously anti-LGBTQ and anti-choice lawmaker who ran for lieutenant governor last year but was defeated in the Republican primary.

Earlier this month, Rapert tweeted a long angry rant against the Democratic Party that claimed, “The Democrat Party is behind the radial LGBTQ insanity attacking our children through public libraries and activist teachers that are pushing homosexual pornography on minor children.” In a September rant he denounced the LGTBQ movement as a “devil of hell.”

According to the Arkansas Times, the state library “administers state and federal funds appropriated for libraries and library development” and is an “information resource center for state agencies, legislators and legislative staffs; provides guidance and support for the development of local public libraries and provides the resources, services, and leadership necessary to meet the educational, informational and cultural needs of the citizens of Arkansas.”

Rapert founded and leads the National Association of Christian Lawmakers, which promotes lawmakers and legislation that reflect Rapert’s “biblical worldview.” Rapert has credited NACL with passage of anti-trans legislation that Sanders signed into law this year. In a video celebrating that law’s passage, Rapert thundered:
https://www.rightwingwatch.org/post/sarah-sanders-appoints-christian-nationalist-anti-lgbtq-activist-to-arkansas-library-board/

Do we really want these people deciding the future of education and access to information? Hell no! I can’t believe it has come to this, but if we have to defend, then we must defend! Mass has ended, may you go in peace! That’s it this week for:

Beating A Dead Horse: Proper Funeral Etiquette
[br]
[br]

You know last week, we lost one of the best first ladies of the United States of all time and an overall amazing human being, Rosalynn Carter. The wife of our 38th president and one of the best humanitarians both the country and the world has ever seen, Jimmy Carter. So here’s the thing, we’re going to offer this space as a service to MAGAs. No, we’re not going to complain that Melania was invited in the first place because those were the wishes of Mrs. Carter, that the former first ladies gather at her funeral service. But what has come out of this instead is the fact that Melania just dared to be different and wore a grey suit to the funeral instead of a black one, which had the MAGA world fawning over her like she was the queen or something. First off, this is America, we don’t do the tyrannical king thing here. Second, it’s neither the time nor the place for that sort of thing. And third, it’s a damn funeral! The only person you’re supposed to be paying attention to is the one in the casket! So of course watching the debate unfold over the last week about what one should wear to a funeral has been quite the stuff of insanity. So before we go any further, let’s break down what happened, exactly.

As an online debate rages over the appropriateness of Melania Trump's gray coat at Rosalynn Carter's funeral while other first ladies wore black, pockets on the right are starting to push back against the narrative with some photos of their own.

At the top of the heap is Jesse Watters, who, during his Wednesday show on Fox News, displayed a photo of "Rosalynn Carter herself" wearing a grayish top while attending the funeral of Richard Nixon in 1994.

Watters showed some headlines demeaning Melania Trump's attire at Tuesday's funeral in Atlanta, Georgia, before saying: "So, the media thought that wearing a gray overcoat to a funeral was a crime against humanity, but, what do we have here?"

Subsequent photos of Bush and Clinton at those events indicate they wore black underneath while it's unknown what Trump wore beneath her coat, and she did not respond to Newsweek's emailed request for comment.
https://www.newsweek.com/right-defend-melania-trump-funeral-attire-pictures-1848571

I know, right? And I love that they needed a Powerpoint slide show in order to prove their point like they’re analyzing the Zapruder film or something. But the mere fact that Melania attempted to be different and get eyes drawn on her really says a lot about how classless and utterly deplorable the Trumps really are. And it’s like, we are really supposed to accept these people who want to be president again after how terrible they were the first time? Again, we can’t emphasize this enough – it’s a fucking funeral. The only person who you should be paying attention to is the one who’s in the casket, and that’s it.

Friends, families, and the five living first ladies gathered in Georgia on Tuesday for the funeral of Rosalynn Carter.

Melania Trump led the procession of first ladies as they filed into church, followed by Michelle Obama, Laura Bush, and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Dr. Jill Biden, the fifth and final member of the group, arrived just before the service started with her husband, President Joe Biden.

Last to arrive at the service was former President Jimmy Carter, who has been in hospice care since February. Carter, 99, arrived in a wheelchair and took his place next to the Bidens for his wife's memorial.

Never one to shy away from controversial or costly sartorial choices, Melania managed to cause a bit of a stir when she arrived in a gray tweed coat and skirt by Dior.
https://www.insideedition.com/melania-trump-rosalynn-carter-funeral

What’s really hilarious is that the headlines change drastically depending on what your news source of choice is. And even your news source of choice has differing opinions depending on who’s actually writing the articles! One source will have a headline like “MELANIA TAKES CATWALK AT ROSALYNN CARTER’S FUNERAL”, while another will be “Melania’s grey coat turns heads at Rosalynn C arter’s funeral”. And god, stop with the damn click bait already! If I see the words “breaking” or “exclusive” on these headlines, the next thing that’s going to be breaking is my monitor when I throw it out the window! But yeah this is one of the more hilarious and insane debates we’ve seen lately.

On Tuesday, all five of the living former first ladies attended the memorial service in honor of Rosalynn Carter. The wife of former President Jimmy Carter passed away on Nov. 19 at the age of 96, but it’s not her honorable life everyone is talking about — it’s Melania Trump’s choice of wardrobe.

During the service, the women were in the front row in order of their years in the White House, except for Dr. Jill Biden, who sat next to her husband, President Joe Biden. The women, Michelle Obama, Laura Bush, Hillary Clinton, and Jill, chose to wear an all-black ensemble to honor Rosalynn, but Donald Trump’s wife is being called out for wearing a light gray coat instead — some people felt like it was “disrespectful” to those in mourning.

The debate grew on X, formerly Twitter, when one account wrote about Melania’s wardrobe with a photo of her sitting next to the other first ladies, “Turns out Melania is every bit as disrespectful and lacking in class as her husband.” Surprisingly, Melania met more support than some people might think. One account jumped to her defense, noting, “What kind of man worries about how a woman that he has never met is dressed…?” Another user added, “No, what’s tacky & lacking in class is taking what was supposed to be a day of remembrance for the death of a former First Lady and making the conversation about the color of someone’s clothes. Ridiculous.”
https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/melania-trumps-color-choice-rosalynn-155225590.html

Now here’s the thing – we can’t say that Melania shouldn’t have been invited, because Mrs. Carter specifically said that she wanted all of the former living first ladies to gather at her service. Which they made happen. So that we have to respect. Now the question of what to wear to a funeral is something else entirely. And a state funeral is not the time or place for the MAGAs to make a political statement either, fuck off with that shit already. Even most fashion experts agree that black should be worn to a funeral. And I’m sure the one who recommends hot pink must have thought that the deceased had a warped sense of humor, at the very least.

Melania Trump has a penchant for serving looks with a side of controversy. Who could forget her infamous "I Really Don't Care" jacket? Well, the former first lady has done it again, and plenty of folks can't help but scratch their heads. On November 19, 2023, former first lady Rosalynn Carter died at 96 years old. A three-day memorial service was held starting on November 27, and of course, many major political figures attended to pay their respects. On November 28, Melania was seated in the front row at Carter's service alongside her fellow former first ladies, Michelle Obama and Laura Bush, but she managed to stand out in the crowd — and not in a good way.

You don't have to be a fashion expert or a public figure to know about a few outfit rules that should never be broken unless otherwise stated. You should never wear white to a wedding, and you should always wear dark colors to a funeral. For a high-profile, formal service like Carter's, wearing all-black is the safest bet — especially for someone who's going to be seated front and center. That said, the light-colored suit that Melania donned as she sat in the front row ensured that all eyes were on her, and many folks on X, formerly known as Twitter, have taken note of her seemingly offensive fashion faux pas.

Conspiracy Corner
[br]
[br]

Welcome back to our segment that attempts to explain the unexplainable, Conspiracy Corner! Of course conspiracies exist when people simply don’t want to read the article past the headlines and just flat out make shit up. We of course are coming to you live from our underground doomsday shelter from deep within the New Mexico badlands. Undisclosed location, of course! Let me just adjust my trusty tin foil hat for maximum government interference. Ah, there we go! They are trying to read yours and my thoughts after all! Look before we go any further, we have to stress that we are 10,000% vehemently opposed to the truly alarming insane book bans that are happening throughout the United States. We also want to say fuck Moms For Liberty and the MAGA Taliban. Well, this week, it was learned who’s exactly behind the book ban atrocities that are happening all over the country. And we always say that behind every evangelical measure that gets passed into law, there’s some big money evangelical firm that’s behind it. So as such, this is 100% the case here. There’s a new company out there called Brave Books, and it was started by rabid right wingers who are attempting to replace Scholastic, a very familiar children’s brand, with their twisted agenda. Here’s more.

An overflow crowd of hundreds of people snaked around the Taylor Public Library on Saturday, August 5. They were there to attend a children’s book reading which featured two well-known conservative activists—Brave Books author and Growing Pains actor Kirk Cameron and Riley Gaines, a former college swimmer who now opposes the inclusion of transgender athletes in sports.

The event in Taylor was a part of a national campaign launched by conservative Christian publisher Brave Books which involved hundreds of events hosted at public libraries across the country. Brave Books has partnered with controversial right-wing activists like Chaya Raichik, the founder of the deeply anti-LGBTQ+ social media account Libs of Tik Tok, and Jack Posobiec, a Southern Poverty Law Center-designated extremist with a history of collaborating with white supremacists.

Titled “See You at the Library,” the Brave Books campaign was aimed to promote children’s books with conservative values under the guise of protecting free speech. More than three dozen events of varying sizes were organized by local sponsors across the state of Texas. The largest of the gatherings occurred at Taylor Public Library in Williamson County, where they were sponsored by the Williamson County chapter of Citizens Defending Freedom, a national group that is simultaneously pushing to ban books elsewhere in Texas. State Representative Caroline Harris, a supporter of the recently passed bill banning transgender athletes in college sports, attended the event in Taylor.

Yeah BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Ever notice how the people who are the quickest to bring up free speech are the ones who are the quickest to exploit it and suppress it? Yeah this seems like one of those times. And the last person I want anywhere near children is that libsoftiktok asshole, who’s made a career of doxing and harassing teachers. And now they want to write and sell books to children? Fuck right off with that shit! And in case you’re wondering who’s behind it, why it’s none other than MAGA Taliban lunatic Kirk Cameron! Yes, he has a children’s book out right now and it’s quite the stuff of insanity!

Kirk Cameron, actor and children's book author, is heading to Fredericksburg, Virginia to kick off a first-in-its-kind book fair to counter the large monopoly of book fairs from Scholastic books.

After a year of promoting his children's books published by up-and-coming conservative Christian book publisher BRAVE books at various libraries across the country with crowds of thousands of parents and children, Cameron has found a new avenue for taking his efforts to the next level.

"We've decided to go after the head of the snake and find out who is filling libraries and schools with sexually explicit and gender-confusing material," he said to WMAL on Wednesday.

He continued, "The head of the snake, the dealer of all of this is Scholastic Books, the largest producer of children's books in America."

Oh Kirk Cameron, I speak with the utmost sincerity when I say this but: go fuck yourself, eat a bag of shit, and fuck right the fuck off. Just because you’re a MAGA Taliban lunatic who’s been brainwashed by a steady 24 hour a day diet of right wing brainwashing and social media conspiracy theories, does not mean that you are entitled to any sort of power over what kids think! So fuck off, douchebag. OK now that I got that off of my chest. And by the way, my friends, in case you’re wondering if this whole thing gets worse, oh yes it does! In fact some watchdog groups uncovered that the quest to get books banned often starts with this person appearing at your local schoolboard. And it is the stuff of pure fucking evil!

On November 14, a 20-year-old woman named Lanah Burkhardt appeared before the school board of the Conroe Independent School District in Texas. Burkhardt told the board that, when she was 11, she read a Scholastic book that introduced her to "a single kiss." According to Burkhardt, her exposure to this Scholastic book was directly responsible for her developing a debilitating addiction to pornography.

Burkhardt said that after reading the Scholastic book with the "single kiss," she "looked for other books that gave me pleasure." This "led to internet searches" that Burkhardt will "never forget." By the time she was 13, Burkhardt says her porn addiction left her depressed and suicidal.

Burkhardt cited her story as a reason to restrict access to Drama, a novel published by Scholastic. The book includes this image of two people kissing:
https://popular.info/p/mysterious-woman-tells-school-board

Yeah BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! Yeah this is one of those conspiracies that absolutely qualifies for the “rigged conspiracy” tag! It’s a classic example of “this happened to one person so they have to ruin it for everyone else and make everyone else’s lives that much more difficult”. So we also give a big “fuck right the fuck off” award to Lanah Burkhardt and anyone who’s connected with this evil organization. And by the way we don’t expect this book banning bullshit to end any time soon and quite frankly we’re pissed off at the MAGA Taliban for doing this again and again. Because shit like this keeps happening and it keeps getting weirder. SMDH.

“Read Me a Story, Stella” is a children’s picture book about a pair of siblings reading books together and building a doghouse. However, because the author’s name is Marie-Louise Gay, the book was added to a list of potentially “sexually explicit” books to be moved from the children’s section of the Huntsville-Madison County Public Library (HCPL) system.

Gay’s book has never been “mistakenly censored,” according to Kirsten Brassard, Gay’s publicist at Groundwood Books.

“Although it is obviously laughable that our picture book shows up on their list of censored books simply because the author’s last name is Gay, the ridiculousness of that fact should not detract from the seriousness of the situation,” Brassard said in a statement.

Brassard mentioned other books on the list, including Angie Thomas’ “The Hate U Give,” which has no LGBTQ themes or sexual content but does depict the shooting of an unarmed Black teenager at the hands of police.

People Are Dumb
[br]
[br] B

Hit it!

Of course you know by now that People Are People, and people are dumb! I always want to preface by saying that we always have to point out exactly what makes a People Are Dumb story. Like for example, a person robbing a McDonald’s? Not a People Are Dumb story. A person who goes ballistic and destroys a McDonalds because they ran out of chicken nuggets when there’s another McDonalds a mile down the road that has them? Now that’s a People Are Dumb story! And I also want to preface by saying that we have a new policy of omitting any names and addresses from the stories we bring you. We don’t want to be responsible for any negative attention, got it? Good! So who’s dumb this week? I want to start with this story out of Las Vegas. So if you’re going for a joyride in a Lambo down I-15 at night and you happen to be caught by the police, maybe don’t lead with the fact that you think someone might be following you, because if you’re going 135 MPH, you can be pretty sure that no one else is willfully driving that fast. Just a rule of thumb!

A man who police said drove 135 mph in a 35 mph zone told an officer he thought someone was following him. ... At around 10 p.m. on Nov. 16, (omitted) drove a white Lamborghini east on Starr Avenue toward the intersection with Bermuda Road at 135 mph, according to a Metropolitan Police Department arrest report.

After police activated lights and sirens, the Lamborghini ran red lights at Starr and Bermuda and at Bermuda and St. Rose Parkway. Luster continued to drive more than 100 mph over Interstate 15 before getting stuck in traffic.

(omitted) told police, according to the report, that he was speeding because another vehicle was following him and he was scared.

Court records show (omitted) was cited for speeding in May and October. He faces charges of evading a police officer, reckless driving and driving with expired registration. ... Luster was due in court on Dec. 18.
https://www.reviewjournal.com/local/driver-going-135-mph-in-lamborghini-tells-police-someone-was-following-him-2954642/

Ha ha ha ha ha ha!!! Next up – you know we love a good high speed pursuit around here. So what happens when you go on a 100MPH joyride, only to flee the cops? You have to come up with the most bullshit excuse possible. And I’m sure that the cops have heard literally every excuse there is out there, but this might be one of the most hair brained we’ve ever come across. It’s not quite as insane as the Homer Simpson “it’s my first day” defense, but it has to be way up there. But if you’re going out on a beer run and it ends with a 100 MPH run from the cops, I got news for you – your friends’ birthday party was already ruined!

A man who led police on a 100 mph pursuit in Round Lake was arrested and told officers he fled because he did not want to ruin the birthday of his friend, who was a passenger and was wanted.

(omitted), of Round Lake Beach, was charged with two counts of aggravated fleeing to elude, reckless driving, uninsured motor vehicle causing bodily harm, two counts of disregarding a traffic control device, improper passing, changing lanes without a signal, speeding 35+ mph over limit, improper overtaking and speeding 26-34 mph over limit.

(omitted) said an officer was at Cedar Lake Road and Townline Road in Round Lake on November 2. ... The officer saw a vehicle, driven by (omitted), driving 78 mph in a 45 mph zone, (omitted) said. ... Officers attempted to perform a traffic stop on the vehicle but the driver failed to stop.

Next up – of course you know we can’t get out of here without doing some stories about the craziest state in the union. Yes I am of course referring to *THAT* state. Florida. The sunshine state. The penis of America. Because Florida never fails to bring the crazy. You know we toured Florida earlier this year but had to bail because of Hurricane Ida. Anyway let’s go to this story out of Lake County, Florida where if you get in a shouting match with someone, maybe don’t use the first available thing you have at your disposal as a weapon. The only person who can rightfully do that is Jackie Chan. But really throwing Oreos at your spouse is probably the best way to get your neighbors to call the police. And that will never end particularly well.

A Florida man allegedly threw a package of Oreo cookies at his wife while the two were arguing over their empty coffee maker.

Deputies wrote in an affidavit that (omitted) was arrested Saturday morning after he allegedly threw the package of Oreo cookies at his wife while the two argued over their coffee maker that had no water in it, according to FOX 35.

According to Lake County Sheriff's deputies, the couple, who has been married for over 40 years, got into a verbal argument while sitting at a table.

At some point, (omitted) allegedly became "aggressive" and threw the package of Oreo cookies at her chest, which caused her to fall. ...........(more)

https://news.yahoo.com/florida-man-throws-package-oreos-224610570.html

Next up – speaking of using random things as weapons, this next story doesn’t exactly say where it happens but one thing we know for sure is that it’s in the Sunshine State. And I always love the articles where they give some very cryptic vague information. My first thought when I see stories like this is “well, obviously”. But when I see “Florida Man arrested for hitting wife with sausage”, I know that’s something that I have to know more about! And yes, you perverts, you can make all of the “that’s what she said” jokes you want. Go ahead. I’ll wait! I also love this part of the story – “Officers suspect that alcohol *MAY* haver been involved.” Well duh… you think?

A Florida man has been charged with domestic battery after allegedly throwing a sausage at his wife and hitting her on the side of the face with it.

Ray Allen, 61, has been released from custody following Saturday's incident in St. Petersburg. However, a judge has ordered him to have no contact with his wife.

TheSmokingGun obtained a copy of Allen's arrest affidavit, which claims the sausage flinging happened during a "verbal altercation" Saturday afternoon.

"The said sausage struck [the 64-year-old victim] on the right side of the face," it is alleged in the arrest affidavit, which notes that alcohol use likely played a factor in Saturday's incident.

The sausage involved in the alleged battery was not seized as evidence.

Finally this week – you know it’s that time of year. Christmas time. Yeah cue the Peanuts music – Christmas time is here…. And of course with Christmas comes all of the things that are usually associated with that holiday. My favorite of which is the overly elaborate lighting displays that seem to get crazier each year with new technology. This story comes to us from the Florida town known as Plantation, and if you’re going to put up elaborate light displays every year, you might want to do that thing, called, I don’t know, paying your bills! Because if you’re committing a crime, the last thing you want to do is draw attention to yourself. And that’s what elaborate lighting displays do. So of course it doesn’t take long to put those two things together. This story also proves that even after death, one can still enter the People Are Dumb hall of fame!

A South Florida home known for its over-the-top Christmas lights was revealed to have been illegally occupied for almost two decades, an investigation found.

(omitted), who died in 2020, allegedly “squatted” in the Plantation, Florida, home for 15 years, according to legal documents obtained by PEOPLE from the Broward County Property Appraiser’s investigation. Per the report, there was never a title on the property and it had a “forged deed.”

The Appraiser’s office dubbed the investigation “The Nightmare Before Christmas” as the (omitted) were known for going all out with their holiday decorations, covering the house in thousands of colored string lights, festive figures and large glowing lawn ornaments, earning it the nickname the “(omitted) Extreme Christmas” house. Even that caused some conflicts with neighbors and the city of Plantation over the years.

"There were some legal issues and complaints between the city of plantation and the Hyatts that stemmed from the Christmas lights situation,” (omitted) at the appraiser’s office, tells PEOPLE.

My Governor Is An Idiot Round 8: Moore V DeWine
[br]
[br]

Welcome back to our segment that pits red state governors against blue state governors in the battle that was inspired by a bumper sticker, My Governor Is An Idiot! See, the MAGAs always love to talk shit about governors, but that’s all they got is talk. In the last couple of weeks, we have put Kim Reynolds against Tim Walz and found out how shockingly evil Greg Abbott was against Illinois’ JB Pritzker, and we also saw Andy Beshear of Kentucky edge out a reelection victory! This week it’s another Beltway Battle as we pit Ohio’s Fox News installed governor Mike DeWine against Maryland’s democratically elected Wes Moore! Who will come out on top? Let’s go to the floor, shall we?

Moore:

Wes Moore is the governor of the state of Maryland. As you know, Maryland is conveniently located above Virginia and below Pennsylvania. It’s the home to the Baltimore Orioles and the Baltimore Ravens, and also the home to the university that’s synonymous with public health, Johns Hopkins University. Maryland is also the home of one of the most famous foods in the entire country – crab cakes! But we’re here to talk about their governor Wes Moore. In case you haven’t heard of him, well, you’re not alone. Mr. Moore is not afraid to have some fun. He’s done everything from the annual Polar Bear Competition to participating in marathons. And what are some of his policies? Well mass transit is a huge issue right now, and he’s looking to expand it out of Baltimore.

The Maryland Department of Transportation – Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA) on April 13 signed framework agreements with Delaware Transit Corp. and Virginia Passenger Rail Authority for the potential future expansion of MARC (Maryland Area Rail Commuter) Train service to Newark, Del., and Alexandria, Va.

The agreements outline the next steps to advance discussions and explore pilot service opportunities, according to the Office of Maryland Gov. Wes Moore, which made the announcement.

Creating seamless MARC Train service both north and south of Maryland “is a critical component to transforming MARC Train from a local, commuter rail to a regional rail provider,” the Office said.
https://www.railwayage.com/passenger/commuterregional/marc-eyes-two-state-expansion-project/

You know what MAGAs? Here’s the thing – we always complain about how we can’t have nice things in this country. But you know how we get nice things like functioning governments? It’s called “electing competent people”! See, Wes Moore is a guy who is well liked in the state of Maryland, and he’s got a governing body that is also well liked and gets shit done. He doesn’t spend all of his time on Fox News complaining about how hard it is to govern. But this is what happens when you elect solid leaders, you get nice things. Like this.

When President Joe Biden recently touted the hundreds of billions of dollars invested into American manufacturing in the last two years, he included a talking point that previous Democratic presidents might not have bragged about. New factories in Ohio, he said, could offer thousands of “jobs paying $130,000 a year, and many don’t require a college degree.”

When Biden highlighted those non-college jobs at the State of the Union, it was just three weeks after Pennsylvania’s new Democratic governor Josh Shapiro eliminated the requirement of a four-year college degree for the bulk of jobs in Pennsylvania state’s government, two months after Utah’s Republican governor Spencer Cox did the same, and nearly one year after Maryland’s Republican governor Larry Hogan set off the trend. Since the president’s State of the Union, Alaska’s Republican governor Mike Dunleavy has also followed suit.

Maryland’s newly elected Democratic governor, Wes Moore, plans to continue opening up state jobs to non-college-educated workers, confirmed his spokesperson.

DeWine:

Cleveland rocks!!!! Yeah that’s my Drew Carey impression there. Now we come to Ohio, the Buckeye State. It’s located below Michigan and next to Indiana, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky. It’s also very close enough to DC that it gets called a Beltway state, even though it’s technically a Midwest state. It’s got sports like the Cleveland Browns, Cavaliers, and Guardians, and the Cincinnati Reds and the Bengals. It’s also the home to a university that tried to trademark the word “THE”. But again we’re here to talk about the governor of the Buckeye State, and that would be second termer Mike DeWine, another byproduct of the Fox Ministry Of Propaganda. As you know, Ohio has been in the news a lot because of its’ recent election and the extremely controversial Issue 1. Here’s where he stands, and it should be pretty obvious.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) called a referendum on reproductive rights on the ballot Tuesday in his home state a “radical proposal,” just days before voters will take to the polls to weigh in on the issue.

“If you look at Issue 1 — it’s a radical proposal and whether you’re pro-choice or pro-life, it just goes much, much too far,” DeWine said Sunday on CBS News’s “Face The Nation.” “It is a radical proposal and does not fit Ohio.”

The proposed constitutional amendment, called Issue 1, would establish abortion protections in the state’s constitution. The highly anticipated vote comes after weeks of rallies from both supporting and opposing groups, political leaders and celebrities.

Ohio, which has increasingly trended red, is being looked at as a testing ground for whether Democrats can pass such abortion protections. The Buckeye State passed a six-week abortion ban shortly after the Supreme Court decision that overturned Roe v. Wade last year, before a state court put the ban on hold last fall.
https://thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/4294279-dewine-calls-ohio-abortion-ballot-measure-a-radical-proposal/

Of course he is. He watches Fox News 24 hours a day, so it should be pretty obvious! But the Buckeye State is in what one would refer to as a “hot mess”. And part of the reason is because nobody knows who’s really in charge! Seriously, think of how fucked up that must be! Remember earlier what I said about not getting nice things? Here’s how we get nice things taken away – we elect incompetent buffoons like this! And yes, keep listening to Fox News and AM radio and electing the idiots they prop up, you’re only hurting yourselves in the long run!

Gov. Mike DeWine (R) and Ohio’s elected education board members are battling over who is in charge of the state’s education department — and whether that department exists at all.

In July, DeWine signed into law a bill that would strip the State Board of Education of most of its authority, including its charge to run the Ohio Education Department. It creates a new state agency — the Department of Education and Workforce — that would replace the education department and report to the governor, not the board.

The bill also would also make all of the board’s 19 members governor’s appointees instead of allowing voters to elect 11 of them. The GOP fought for the changes after three candidates aligned with the teacher’s union were elected to the board, displacing conservative members.

Last month, some board members sued to halt the law. They won a temporary restraining order, which was extended this week as the judge asked for more information from both sides while she decides whether to completely halt the law for the duration of the lawsuit. Additional briefs are due Oct. 16, and the restraining order has been extended to Oct. 20.

Oh come on, it’s clearly Mike DeWine by the longest of long shots!

Next Week:

Next week it’s the finale for this segment where we’re saving the best for last – it’s my home state of California, Gavin Newsom against Florida’s off the rails insane governor Ron DeSantis!

My dad was a great cusser because he'd grown up with coal central heat with an automatic stoker that jammed on clinkers, usually in the wee hours and as the eldest boy, he had to deal with the sucker. His cussing was pure obscene poetry.

When I grew up, I grew into non traditional jobs like rock band roadie where I had to outcuss the men to get their attention. Then after a few twists and turns, I went into nursing and was slotted into critical care. That requires cussing, too. Angels in white are some of the most foul mouthed people on the planet.

I am not at all offended by coarse words for female genitalia or male genitalia. However, if I were, I'd rather wince now and then than be censored by a bunch of Aunt Prunellas of both sexes. Censorship is the obscenity, not words, although I won't direct those at my fellow posters anywhere on the net.

Funny, you don't like "bra." I dislike "panties." People in the rural south called them "step ins," and "drawers" or "undies" would be acceptable. "Panties" sounds like something toddlers wear and it needs a more grown up term.

I call them "underpants" for both male and female varieties.

While I agree with you in general about censorship, I can't help feeling proprietary about words for female genitalia. It bothers me, in fact, that there's apparently no word--none that I know, anyway--for the female genital gestalt. I recognize parts--vulva, labia, vagina (inside only, please, boys--my vagina is *inside*), but when I talk about my crotch (as I so often do), I don't know a word that encompasses all my female parts.

Mr. Rogers used to sing that "boys are fancy on the outside, girls are fancy on the inside," but I think girls have a lot more parts to name on the outside than "penis" and "scrotum."

I learned to swear, where I learned to do so much else, in college.

and a far less centralized system.

I remember kidneys and hearts being transported by human beings, whether delivered from another city or from a local hospital. Only when there was no recipient close were the organs sent out of state. Since UNOS was set up, we've lost out to bigger states scooping up all available organs. If you need a transplant, move to a high population state. UNOS might be great if you're a control freak but it is not a fair system.

Better tracking also needs to be done. My cornea was tracked, but some member of the brain trust routed it to San Diego to go down to Mexico. That happens a lot with things sent to NM and it delayed my surgery. Had it been a kidney, the organ would likely have been discarded, they don't last forever.
