I just lit our electric Menorah to put in the front window in order to show that I can practice my religion/faith/ tradition without fear (part of the meaning of the holiday) but then wondered if I also had to do the candle thing in order to do it right. This is what I found:

and this is what is so fascinating to me about the tradition that I was born into. There's never a simple answer.

After finding out about that, I wondered in which direction it should be lit - right to left according to halacha (law), or left to right so that the display to those passing the house would see it in the right direction.
Everything is debatable - absolutely love it.

Another conundrum: latkes or doughnuts.

Who knew a Menorah could have such issues.

This half Ukrainian-American Catholic grew up in a 2/3 Jewish neighborhood from secular/cultural to Conservative. So I learned to like Matzo ball soup, and buttered Matzo early on.
I found latkas later. 👍 Oh, yum! 😄
