(54,411 posts)8. The key word in that's 'god'. It takes wilful suspension of disbelief (ie magical thinking) to believe in a god or gods,
so it is hardly surprising that people construct their own realities wherein their particular 'god' and their particular candidate(s) meet at a confluence of their wishes and beliefs.
This occurs when people on any side (politically) in any country try to inject/link their religious ideas and/or claim their god(s) support a politician (or a policy or a philosophical bent, etc etc) that they happen to approve of.
