Tesla recalls 2 million US vehicles over autopilot - Reuters



Tesla is recalling just over two million vehicles in the United States fitted with its Autopilot advanced driver-assistance system to install new safeguards, after a safety regulator said the system posed safety concerns.

By that metric Microsoft Apple et al have been “recalling” all their computers for years now.

The video mentioned that it was a software update. I'm not going to get into semantics as far as the thread title says "recall" or "installs patch" or whatever.

Every Christmas all Teslas are updated with a bunch of new features.
Besides functional features they add games and entertainment software.
So a big update right now with more features to ensure the automation is being used properly is not surprising at all.

The Full Self Driving software is updated every few weeks as it is still in beta development.
