By that metric Microsoft Apple et al have been recalling all their computers for years now.

The video mentioned that it was a software update. I'm not going to get into semantics as far as the thread title says "recall" or "installs patch" or whatever.

(19,107 posts)3. Tesla regularly recalls (updates) all cars software several times a year.
Every Christmas all Teslas are updated with a bunch of new features.
Besides functional features they add games and entertainment software.
So a big update right now with more features to ensure the automation is being used properly is not surprising at all.
The Full Self Driving software is updated every few weeks as it is still in beta development.
