This is an excellent interview of Adam Kinzinger by anchor John Ono on the show "BookTV". Kinzinger comes across as really thoughtful and insightful, and a very nice, very sincere guy. If it had not been for the MAGAts I think he would have been on a fast track to the top leadership of the GOP. I could easily see him as a candidate for VP, or even President, if only the GOP had remained sane.
I strongly encourage everyone to watch this interview. He drops all kinds of interesting tidbits -- such as possibly running against Ted Cruz, and possibly becoming a Dem. Makes me want to run out and buy his book.

(16,956 posts)Im voting for Colin Allred.
I wouldnt vote for Adam Kinzinger in the primary. I guess Adam has held his breath until he turned purple and if he can hold it just a little longer till he turns blue.
No thanks. I appreciate Adam Kinzingers bravery but not enough to vote for him in the primary.

There are some real morons on that side of the aisle.

He moved to Houston. If I remember this right, around summertime.
The Chicago news covered his farewell wishes to Illinoisans

(69,271 posts)His economic belief system is still way to the right.
He still thinks sipply-side is a good idea. He still thinks the deregulation solves almost everything.
He's too savvy to taken on SS & Medicare, so he's not nuts.
But, on most issues he's to the right of Manchin, as an example.
You are correct about him personally. Affable, well-intentioned and pretty funny.
But, a dem he isn't.

(19,845 posts)He won't become a Dem, and Democrats won't vote for him in any case.
He won't win anywhere as a Republican...there are NO votes for him in a MAGA-dominated party. Look what happened to Liz Cheney.
The only place he can go now is to be a political commentator for CNN or some such.

(32,847 posts)Who thought his last name was so bad, he changed it to "Trump" after he moved here from Germany. And, whose grandson hates immigrants so much that he wants to liquidate them--even though his own fucking mother was an immigrant. But, she was white and from Scotland, so I guess that's not considered "poisoning America's blood."
