'Destroy him completely': Anti-Trump conservative begs Biden to get 'vicious'

Conservative Matt Lewis is begging someone in President Joe Biden's campaign to take the gloves off and start thrashing former President Donald Trump.

Writing in The Daily Beast, Lewis expressed alarm at Trump's recent rants about immigrants "poisoning the blood" of America and he blasted the Biden White House for responding with a mere press release.

Lewis then pointed back to the hardball tactics used by James Carville, the strategist for former President Bill Clinton who lobbed sexist attacks against accuser Paula Jones to wreck her credibility.

"If Team Biden has anyone that vicious around, I haven’t seen him (or her)," writes Lewis. "The Biden campaign seems to be pinning its hopes on the notion that next year people will have a more favorable view of the economy, or (as was the case in 2022) that voters will prioritize saving liberal democracy over their own economic interests. A safer assumption would be that they have to destroy Trump completely and immediately."

It's a bit early for Biden to go vicious. See what early primaries do and then decide when to play hardball. dutch777 Dec 2023 #9

We aren’t haters and we believe in fair play.
Maybe the Biden campaign does need to hire some former Republican bulldog strategist that hates Trump as much as we do.

Biden needs to be chewing on Trump every damned chance he gets. And he needs commercials on the air quoting his hate right fucking now. It's political malpractice to do otherwise.

A bulldog is fine, but a take-no-prisoners mad dog would be better!

Hillary made a major miscalculation in 2016 by focusing on the "positive" while the far right had their knives out and attacked her relentlessly. The result of that failed strategy on the part of the HRC campaign was dire. And now they're doing the same thing with Joe. Trump has accumulated an incalculable amount of negative attributes that should not go unrecognized. The only question is, where to start? Joe needs a Carville type who can take off the gloves and define Trump 24/7 as the evil bastard that he is, and then some. There's no lack of material to work with!

I know it's out of character for Democrats, but I think an acquired taste for blood may be helpful this election.

Hopefully desperate Repug candidates will start hitting Trump. Lord knows they have plenty of ammo if they decide to use it/ have the guts. I would rather see Biden put some big policy proposals on the table now on issues that would take wind out of the Repug sails-- immigration, fairer taxation and such. That would hurt Repugs across the spectrum and up and down the ballot. We not only have the Presidency to win, but Congress as well.

Though I don't think I'd wait until after the primaries.
But I concur, that between these holidays is probably too soon.
