Standing still for long periods of time can affect blood flow. Locking your knees can make it worse. If blood isn't flowing well, it will pool in your legs, which can then cause blood flow problems to your brain, which in turn can cause dizziness and fainting.

have to stand at attention for long periods. If one locks their knees this is bound to happen. Fortunately their was another soldier there to catch her.
