This time I want him in prison. They might limit his social media privileges but I want him to campaign from inside his cell. His rallies will be less effective without him.

(23,803 posts)Uh. Yeah we do. Thats why this is literally embedded in the Constitution. She can tell voters she supports a constitutional amendment to allow insurrectionists to serve if she doesnt like it. Good luck with that.

(179 posts)When an issue is being tried by a judge or court, they say let the voters decide. When the voters decision doesnt go their way, they say let the courts decide. The end result is nothing is ever acted upon or decided on.

(17,610 posts)The 'people' voted in 2000 - and the courts gave us Bush. The 'people' voted by a majority in 2016 and the Electoral College gave us tRump!
The 'people' voted in 2020 - and tRump refused to give it up - and millions have continued to support his flawed reasoning.
The bottom line - RepubliKKKans only think it's fair when it goes their way, either by votes or courts.

How quickly they forget their own efforts to hand the elections to the courts instead of voters. (I'm definitely not expecting them to remember back as far as, let's say, 2000?)

(2,194 posts)The point that was made in this picture of the moment is absolutely spot on! I couldn't have said it any better myself. Frankly, I'm kind of surprised that Chris Christi, who didn't raise his hand about supporting Trump if he was the GOP nominee in 2024, would suddenly turn wishy-washy and make such a statement. I don't think he really thought things through before making that statement, as its implications could be seen to nullify his whole position against Trump.

(28,620 posts)WHAT'S WRONG WITH FOLLOWING THE F**KING LAW??!?
It's in the furshlugginer Constitution, FFS---right there in plain English, in the 14th Amendment, in Section 3!
There are some things that voters don't get to decide--like things that are written into law, in documents like the US Constitution--and presidential elections.
