always has, albeit not to all people’s liking always. What doesn’t work is two branches of government because they have been radicalized and no longer work in the spirit our Constitution intended. Government works, but not radicalized government.

So, I hear you, but to me, that’s an important distinction.

But we are talking about government working towards the common welfare of all. When both political parties worked together on major issues.

Anyone growing up post Regan really might not remember the optimistic outlook of the Eisenhower and Kennedy era's.

Crime was much more violent than today. Passions much more inflamed on both sides. But laws and progress was made because both political parties weren't a collective of clowns.

Name when any of that was occurring.

Anyone growing up post Regan really might not remember the optimistic outlook of the Eisenhower and Kennedy era's.

Outlooks aren't policies. Even worse, if the outlook was optimistic for WASP right wing men who were heterosexual, it was so pessimistic for anyone else that the proper term for their outlook would be 'grim.' Because it was.

progress was made because both political parties weren't a collective of clowns.

No, it happened because Democrats had such overwhelming control of Congress during most of the years postwar to raygun the traitor.

Welcome to reality.

I've always known it was: Racist, money-grubbing and violent. I knew it could be better, but it was a long way from being even a fraction of what it patted itself on the back for being.

It's quite fascinating to see how many people actually bought the BS myth about it.
