The America First Policy Institute is a pro-MAGA think tank whose aim is to craft policies around the political agenda of former President Donald Trump. And, according to Rolling Stone, Trump believes that it owes him "millions" of dollars for supposedly making money using his branding.
According to the publication's sources, Trump has been fuming that the think tank has been raking in big checks and not giving him a cut of the action. The report claims that Trump is particularly annoyed with Brooke Rollins, a former White House domestic policy aide who runs the think tank and whom Trump believes is becoming rich by sponging off his reputation.
"Its my f---ing money!" he fumed earlier this year, according to one source. Trump has also reportedly accused Rollins of making "a killing" off his name and has griped that "it's not right."
However, legal experts told Rolling Stone that carrying out Trump's wishing and handing him cash raised by a nonprofit entity would, in all likelihood, be very illegal.

(179,859 posts)TFG appears to be claiming that this PAC is a sham and he is the owner of the funds raised which may be an admission of violating the law. TFG's legal fees are evidently so high that TFG has to admit to violating the law in order to get enough money to pay his lawyers

(1,416 posts)Trump is getting pretty much exactly what he deserves with regard to the funds collected by America First. It's entertaining, especially with him whining "it's my f-ing money."
In the midst of this entertainment, however, it's worth remembering that Trump's loss that we're celebrating ALSO means that the political arm of the KKK gets to keep the donations?
The America First Policy Institute is named after a Ku Klux Klan slogan (America First).
Brooke Rollins, former head and CEO of AFPI and Trump's head of domestic policy, looks presentable and like she might be a nicer person than Trump, but she's best known for her role in the federal non-response to George Floyd's murder. Her contributions through the First Step Act ultimately was an assault on civil rights though the connection is admittedly difficult to see.
My point is not that Brooke Rollins is an especially terrible person. She's just the public face of the political arm of the KKK. The KKK and organizations which advance the racist ideology of the KKK are the problem.
And that is a long-winded way of saying I simply don't think we should be celebrating the KKK getting to keep the money. It hurts Trump, but those bozos are just going to look for another politician or business-man to replace him.
What do I know.
