The Jan 6th attack on the Capitol cost $2.7 billion in damage

page 23 of the Maine decision to exclude Trump from the primary ballot. The estimate is based on a government report.

I didn't realize it was that much. Wow.

The overall amount of damage caused by Trump and his cult is just impossible to imagine.

Actual physical property damage to the Capitol was estimated at 2.73 MILLION.

Yes I know "damages" can also mean costs but it's misleading.

The 2.7 Billion number is ALL COSTS associated with the riot.

That included all law enforcement costs, investigations, prosecutions, imprisonment, etc... etc... lost income, medical costs... additional future security...

They wouldn't have gotten off that light if they'd attacked their local Walmart.

Destruction of historic architecture, carpentry, decor, windows, doors.

Why weren't they assessed for the destruction they did? I mean, you garnish wages, even if it's $100 a month. Forever.

How do you fix windows and doors that were built during the Civil War? You cant recreate the 150 year old wood, paint and plaster. you replace it with new material and the history is lost! sad but the simple truth.

Even though he is a member of the Police Board that over sees security, the Trump Appointed Architect of the Capitol forgot to come to work that day.

Think of adding the huge amount of $$$ spent so far and to be spent on all the related litigation.

It's fucking mind boggling. MAGA, Trump, and his deranged cultists should be treated as an enemy of the state at this point, not as next in line for the presidency. We don't want authoritarianism, PERIOD. Fuck Rupert Murdoch.
