Dean Phillips defends Trump against the 'judgment of the legal system.'

Last edited Fri Dec 29, 2023, 11:21 PM - Edit history (1)

Dean Phillips @deanbphillips
Trump is a dangerous man, but voters should be the only judge and jury of candidates in America, as the SCOTUS will likely affirm.

Efforts to suppress candidates via the legal system, Secretaries of State, & political parties themselves, are un-democratic & un-American.

...this essentially makes Trump's argument; that just declaring himself a candidate makes him immune from judgment from prosecutors and the courts, and that the DOJ is trying to suppress his candidacy by holding him accountable for his criminality.

To the point Phillips is directly addressing here about the state disqualification rulings, the judicial system is the proper venue for legal challenges to candidacies - not star-chamber, politically charged legislatures, nor the political systems of elections which put them into office.

It will be extremely interesting and concerning if the SC does, as this opportunistic Biden challenger says they will, rule that 'candidates' can't be judged and held to account by the legal system. I'll thereby declare my own candidacy, forthwith.

Why should the courts be allowed to ban that person, instead of the voters getting to decide?

Right up to the second that the voters choose someone else. Then it's squawks of fraud and riggers (*wink*), cheating and skullduggery.

gerrymander and suppress the other voters that will not vote for shithole.

I guess he's a Democrat only by title, like others I will not name. Ya think he knows what shithole and his party is doing with voting rights, but Phillips doesn't care.

Seriously, in a sane world, I wouldn't even know who the eff he is, or care what he says.

It's like everyone's drunk uncle has been given a platform to spew whatever stream of consciousness that can manage to spark a synaps connecting a brain cell to a tongue.

And the "drunkiest, uncleiest" of them all is Donnie Shit for Brains

...second in the imaginary media primary to RFK Jr., and Jill Stein following close behind.

Interesting that he revealed himself this early as a Trump defender. Of course we can't just ignore that he's been used as a foil against Pres. Biden to relate all sorts of opposition garbage like 'age' issues, and is most notable today for trying to make hay out of year-out polls and appeal to fellow kids like any other normal 50-something.

But, yeah, reminding that he's a nobody is the best response to this Trump-defending upstart.

9. The voters were his judge and jury. And yet he and his supporters still engaged in an attempted insurrection.

We have these things called "laws" that I have to follow.

I'm assuming that Trump puts his socks on in a similar way that I do, so what's good for the goose...
