What's your wish for the Democratic Party for 2024?

What is the most important (and achievable) goal the party can set for itself as election season ramps up?

I have some thoughts, but I'll spare you. Really interested in what others think

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

I really want the dems to effectively get the message out about the improving economy, all of their accomplishments during the Biden administration, and to continue painting the picture of what a 2nd Trump administration would look like in contrast to 4 more years of Biden.

Dec 2023

Speak more forcefully to the American people about the threats Trump, MAGA, and the Republicans pose, not just to democracy, but to each individuals quality of life. Talk about what life will be like under a repressive, fascist regime. Go hard on abortion, climate denialism, and the state sponsored lawlessness that a Trump/MAGA regime will result in.

This is time for fighting words. The time for comity is past. Make it clear that you are actually fighting for democracy and the real American way..

- Ignore Axelrod, Carville and all the other know-nothings in the consultant class

- recognize the untapped power of, engage and motivate Gen Z voters

- campaign on a historic record of successes that have benefitted working families, with promises to govern fearlessly, without hesitation or compromise if given the WH and Majorities in congress.

- don’t set foot in a single swing state diner (ice cream parlours are OK, Joe); instead, visit hipster coffee shops. Kombucha Huts, drum circles, etc (I’m only half joking)

Lastly, get enough dark money to smear RFK and whoever No Labels puts on the ballot- take no prisoners, nothing off limits, make them so toxic they can’t get a lobbying job or even a spot on Joe Rogan’s show. I’m talking using Roger Stone tactics- smear RFK so bad his wife finally leaves him. Destroy him and Lieberman’s Trojan Horse.

offices. Recruit Democrats to run for every local elective office up for a vote .... everything from school boards, city councils, county commissions, and state legislatures. Even if the elective position is non-partisan, get a local Democrat to seek the office.

We need to develop and nurture some mechanism that doesn't have to be re-invented, re-emphasized, and re-funded every election cycle, so Democrats can thwart the christofascist/MAGA/book-burner efforts at the foundational levels of local and state government.

I'm even recruiting fellow registered Democrats in my 'hood to run for the HOA board with me! I mean as Democrats, let's get THAT grassroots!

I’d like to see a few courageous democratic leaders compile a short, powerful list of positions you would have to support if you vote Republican:

Women will not be allowed to make reproductive choices about their bodies
Republican presidents are above the law
Cruelty and hate should continue to be the foundation for all Republican policies
Discrimination should be encouraged….and legal
on and on…..

I’d like to see less fealty to neoliberal trickle down economics and more focus on things like Medicare for all, major reform of Big Pharma and reform in things like child care and mental health services. I know Bernie Sanders isn’t a Democrat but we should follow his lead on social justice.

Anyone who thinks that current Democrats are either neoliberal and/or in favor of trickle down economics likely doesn't understand Democrats, neoliberalism, or trickle down economics.

Neoliberal is a favorite slur targeted at Democrats by groups like DSA.

Raise and or eliminate the cap and increase minimum benefits to at least 1500/mo

Take a chunk of the Senior Citizen vote and Trump goes down hard. PLUS it's just the right thing to do.

Don't ask "How to pay for it"

The money will come from the same place as the DoD and Foreign Country donations office.

In every state. One that messages year round, responding to every local need and how the Dems are taking care of this for you. Of course, this org will also message about what the repukes are NOT doing and how that is impacting each of us.

Stop creating these short lived groups that only exist to focus on big elections. Once elected, these elected folks work year round, and they need the support and communication of a steady organization. One that works locally and gives support on local and national issues.
