GOP presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy repeated his pledge to withdraw from the ballot in states that remove former President Trump, and reemphasized his call for other Republican candidates to do the same.
In an interview on NewsNation Prime on Monday, Ramaswamy told host Natasha Zouves his goal was to nullify Maine and Colorado the two states that have so far removed Trump from their ballots by boycotting their elections.
Yeah, look, it wasnt in protest. Im actually a very practical person. I think that it was deeply unconstitutional and wrong for one individual secretary of state, without any trial or procedure or anything else, just to decide and wake up one day Donald Trumps not on the ballot. Thats wrong, Ramaswamy said.
Maine and Colorado have disqualified Trump from running for office based on their interpretation of how the 14th Amendments insurrection clause applies to Trumps actions around the storming of the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
