This morning I heard a study being discussed on CNN (I'm not a morning person and was barely awake) about which states have the lowest rates of gun control deaths. Any guesses?
Turns out, it's not that difficult to guess. NEW YORK AND CALIFORNIA, baby!
Another easy question: what do these 2 states have in common? More stringent gun control by US standards is the obvious answer.
And yes, the states with the highest gun related deaths are red states. Duh.
If Dems don't use this to counter the "crime" issue they are not as smart as I like to think they are.
Unfortunately, I didn't catch the name of the study, but it was billed as non partisan. I don't expect it to receive a lot of coverage, so it's up to Dems to really push this.

It just so happens that Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana are quite poor.
Add in easier access to firearms and it's a bad combination.

Poverty appeared to be a key driver of increased firearm violence and growing disparities between communities. Areas with the highest poverty rates experienced the greatest loss of life from both forms of gun-related deaths.
