Why I think Haley could be a threat

First of all, I disagree with all her policy positions, think she is in the tank for monied interests, has no core principals except "winning", is a moral coward and a narcissist, and her personality is off-putting to say the least.

HOWEVER, the reason that some give for repuke men not voting for her is that they would never vote for a woman of color. Now, she is a person of color, but would the average MAGA even know that? They are ignorant and to them, she looks white, or close enough.

Also, unlike Hillary, she is not threatening to their fragile egos. She has perfected the aw-shucks, cutsie southern belle way of speaking. A lot of men lap that right up. And, she's decent looking with a good figure. Very important to MAGA males.

These same qualities could lead to independent votes as well, especially among the low information voters.

For these reasons, I think we should be careful what we wish for. IMO, Cheato would still be easier to beat. What do you think?

Reason being that a good portion of Trump’s cult will be pissed he’s not the nominee so they’ll sit out. Maybe not most but enough to ensure a fairly large Biden victory. I could be wrong though, who knows?

since they are so illogical and emotional. But I tend to think that if enough of the rightwing media and "influencers" got on board with Haley, they would cave.

I won't mind being against her in Presidential election, as substance will be at issue.

No one will turn out the rabid, energized base of the GOP like Trump in the general election.

Besides, if anyone but Trump miraculously won the Republican nomination, we'd immediately be in a three-way race with Biden, GOP nominee X, and Trump running third party. Biden doesn't just win, he wins big in that scenario.

Unless, of course, the only reason Nominee X beat Trump is that Trump croaked.

Also, as awful as Haley is, Trump is on a whole other plane of despicable and dangerous. I'm much more certain we'd survive four years of Haley with at least some semblance of a democracy left so we could try to do better next time. In that sense, I'd be happy to see Haley win the GOP nomination so the downside risks of the general are more manageable.

agreement that she pardons him and goes after whatever dems he wants. She's that eager to become potus, evidenced by the fact that her spiel and positions change depending on the audience.

A self-pardon is questionable legally anyway, and teaming up might give him the best chance of getting one. Plus, then, he literally owns the presidency because they are partners in crime.

With Dump's endorsement she could win, because apparently there are still just enough broken voters to do it

Seriously, the civil war question was not tough. Many fifth graders have been asked it. Obviously, a simple answer, that like most wars there were multiple causes and referencing a difference on expanding slavery to new states as one works. Every answer she has given makes it worse.

Then, right before the Iowa caucus to say they get it wrong and then NH corrects is really poor thinking. Her long shot depended on doing better than expected Iowa, then winning is coming close in NH.

If she were to become the nomination, think of how many examples of her being on opportunist and not sincere from just the last month.
