The people storming the Capitol were not the working class rubes and uneducated flyover chumps that Trump and DUers like to stereotype and scorn.

I don't know who this guy is who's blaming Congress for him losing 400k, but he's illustrating something we should remember. The people who attacked democracy on Jan 6, 2021 were professionals and business owners, smug upper middle class people who could afford to take off work and fly into DC on a whim. They were the type who end up paying $400,000 in taxes or fines for dodging taxes or possibly lose $400,000 in failed business ventures when federal regulations protect the environment or disallow unethical business practices. He's the kind of guy who can lose 400 grand and still have the means to fly off to the capital on an impulse.

These are people of means who think the laws don't apply to them and probably spent too much time with their eyeballs heroinhooked to Fox News, gradually shifting over to OneAmerica News for the 'real deal', and willfully ignorant of the reality of what economics means to the bottom 90% of the country (in 2021 that means they made over $167,000 per year and had significant investments). They think mostly of their money when they're trying to hang the Vice President and chanting "Where is Nancy?" and their loyalty to Trump was primarily because (1) he too is a money-grubbing "bad-boy" outlaw and (2) he delivered them big tax cuts and (3) they all use the word "Jesus" when they're talking about how much they worship Mammon.

They don't care about democracy because they don't see themselves as being "the people". They're the elites who bitch about "elites" running the country. They're addicted to resentment and their big day three years ago was nothing but a snot-nosed temper tantrum.

And a perfect description of MAGAts generally. They usually drive huge jacked up gas guzzling behemoth pick up trucks, and some can afford the big $$$ for the illegal conversion kit that allows them to 'roll coal'. They can afford to spend huge amounts of money for tactical weapons and the enlarged magazines full of very expensive ammo. They can afford to buy body armor and tons of stupid tat promoting the Slobfather and their ugly MEGAt fantasies and agenda. Flying around the country isn't cheap, and they don't seem to stay in the cheap motels. Some of them are front row Joe's who can afford to follow Comb-over Caligula to all of his rallies. They complain about how the Federal government is ripping them off, but would happily give their last dime to a (fake) billionaire. I could go on, but you made the point better than I could. I suspect many of them are being funded by dark money.

The MAGAt crowd seems to have plenty of money to blow off for all kinds of unnecessary stuff. They can afford giant Made in China flags, and the gear to mount them in their oversized gas guzzlers, and then drive around flapping them to shreds. They can afford lots of camo clothes, and, from what I have read, can afford to spend time each day blasting away with that extremely expensive ammunition that they buy for their man toys. They are not people who have been pushed into their beliefs by economic anxiety and being left behind. Their movement is based arrogance, a conceited sense of entitlement, and a desire to dictate how everyone else will think, live, and act.
