translated, with some light editing by myself for clarityAll Swedes must mentally prepare for the possibility of war in Sweden. This is what Commander-in-Chief Micael Bydén thinks. We must have citizens who understand how serious the situation is and it can get worse for us too, says Bydén in an interview with TV4.

Yesterday, the Minister of Civil Defence's Carl-Oscar Bohlin spoke at the People and Defense National Conference. He stated that "there could be war in Sweden". He is concerned that the rearmament of the civil defense is not going fast enough. 'If anything keeps me awake at night, it is precisely that it is going too slowly', Bohlin said in his speech.
He urged all residents to "get started" immediately and that those who have not started are still behind. Furthermore, he mentioned a number of suggestions that you can adopt depending on whether you are the head of an authority, a municipal councillor, an employee or a private person. 'If you are a private person, great! Have you taken responsibility for your home preparedness?, have you thought about whether you have time to join a voluntary defense organization? If not, get started', advised Bohlin.
This Monday morning, Commander-in-Chief Micael Bydén spoke about the situation, he is also on site in Sälen for this year's defense conference. He shares Bohlin's stance - adding that all Swedes should prepare for a war in Sweden. 'We must understand how serious this situation really is and that, down to the individual level, you mentally prepare. Watch the news coverage from Ukraine and ask yourself the simple questions: If this is happening here, do I have things in place? What should I do? The more people who have thought, pondered and prepared, the stronger our society is', said Bydén in TV4's Nyhetsmorgon .
Bydén says the situation is not pitch black but emphasizes the importance of preparation measures and mindset. 'If you are not stationed for military action and have to report and instead you have a job to go to, then make sure that the social functions that are important work continue to function, in areas such as child care, elderly care, healthcare. etc. We have citizens who need to understand now that this is serious and it can get worse for us too, but don't give up hope', says Bydén to the channel.

(23,741 posts)apparently, human beings are inherent, prone to hate one another and religion, $$$$, power are the key to such.
We are the "superior species" here on earth and are capable of building weapons and mass destruction.
And it lies. Seriously, our superiority might be the death of all of us.

(6,439 posts)Instead of acknowledging that we could build a weapon that could end humanity and making a collective decision to pass on it, we acknowledged such a weapon and moved forward with its assembly, because some people feel the need to have the power to end it all. The twisted logic that prevailed is that the more of these weapons that exist, the less likely we are to use them. I mean that only works until you get one individual who either feels like a cornered rat or plain doesn't give a fuck any longer.

(19,310 posts)Putin was none too happy when Sweden and Finland officially became members of the NATO military alliance; Finland has an 830-mile border with Russia, more than doubling Russia's existing border with NATO countries. And if Trump is elected, he'll probably back Putin if Russia starts something.

(5,516 posts)Hungary and Turkey are still holding out. I suspect the point of sounding the alarm is that Putin might strike before Sweden joins. I personally don't think he has the logistical ability to even take Gotland at this point, but I suggest Sweden's military not take my assessment as authoritative.

Sound familiar? These autocrats are often one trick ponies, pootin is one of those and I have suspected all along that he is behind the problems at our southern and, at times, northern border.

(21,668 posts)Still have it. But, honestly, I think the legal system is going to take Trump down and his minions are going to slink back into the woodwork, like the roaches they are ,because they are inherently cowards. As for Putin, his days are numbered. At some point the Russian people are going to get sick of losing. Two losers: Trump & Putin.

He referred to power grid in general terms. Currently running around in AZ.
