Holy Sh*T: the New Yorker's front cover.

Victor Shi
@Victorshi2020
Holy sh*t. This is the New Yorker’s front cover for this month’s magazine. It is perfect & I hope more in the media will depict Trump this way. It’s not hyperbole. It’s the truth & it’s accurate. Bravo to The New Yorker. THIS is how it is done & we need more of it.

UPDATE!

Barry Blitt’s “Back to the Future”
The artist depicts a goose-stepping Donald Trump, determined to march back into political relevance.
As the New Year unfolds—an election year, at that—we can safely predict it will be filled with revelations and drama, even when it will surely contain some elements of déjà vu. Taking center stage on the cartoonist Barry Blitt’s image for the January 15, 2024, issue is one of the most predictable political actors, the former President and presumptive Republican candidate Donald Trump, whose rhetoric is, somehow, still getting ever more brazen and shrill. “I look forward to depicting the pageantry, solemnity, and awe of the upcoming Presidential election,” Blitt says.

Do they represent any awards, medals, etc during his illegitimate presidency? From other countries? I looked in wikipedia and saw that he has received:

Friends of Zion Award by The Friends of Zion Museum (2017)[26]
Wounded Warrior Project Award in commemoration of Trump's support for the group during the 2018 Soldier Ride (2018)
Bipartisan Justice Award for signing the First Step Act into law (2019)[27]

and finally: WTF??? Ig Nobel Prize in medical education (shared with Jair Bolsonaro, Boris Johnson, Narendra Modi, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, Alexander Lukashenko, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Vladimir Putin, and Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow) (2020)

From Politico, 8/2/16: Trump: ‘I always wanted to get the Purple Heart. This was much easier’

Without setting foot on a battlefield, Donald Trump said he received a Purple Heart medal on Tuesday at his rally in Ashburn, Virginia, from a retired lieutenant colonel and supporter.

“I said to him, ‘Is that like the real one, or is that a copy?” the Republican nominee said moments after taking the stage at a local high school.

Trump recounted the exchange, remarking that the man, who he identified as retired Lt. Col. Louis Dorfman said, “That’s my real Purple Heart. I have such confidence in you.”

“And I said, ‘Man, that’s like big stuff. I always wanted to get the Purple Heart,” Trump said. “This was much easier.”

Trump then invited Dorfman to appear onstage with him on camera, as the two posed for photographs and Trump flashed a thumbs-up before placing the Purple Heart back in his suit jacket pocket.

Trump then told his audience that he had asked Dorfman to speak, but that the man had told him, “No, sir. I’d just like you to keep saying what you’ve been saying.”

The Republican nominee has been under fire in recent days for his attacks on the Gold Star family of a fallen Muslim U.S. Army captain who spoke at last week’s Democratic National Convention to denounce Trump’s comments on immigration.

Following Trump’s statement, NBC reporter Katy Tur tweeted that she had spoken with Dorfman and that he said the medal he gave to Trump was a copy of the one awarded to him.

Dorfman was awarded the Purple Heart after being wounded in action in Iraq in 2007.

One other piece of hardware, maybe 2, even though he was eligible to wear something like 8 or 9 medals/honors from his WWI service.

I can't remember pictures of him decked out with a full component of his military/Nazi serviceware bling. For a dictator he was unusually restrained about accessorising with medals.
