In second impeachment trial, TFG's attorney stated that the DOJ could indict and prosecute TFG even if TFG was acquited

Trump has a history of presenting conflicting arguments to suit him in the moment. TFG's attorneys had no answer when one of the judges asked about the arguments made by TFG's counsel in the second impeachment trial. TFG's attorney argued that if TFG was acquitted in the second impeachment trial, then TFG could be indicted and tried by the DOJ after he left office.

One of the judges cited the Congressional Record. Here is that passage.

This reminds me of my old college debate days. This was in the 1970s before the internet and we used to divide up who was going to read which day's congressional record. These were paper copies and there was no search function. I remember being up to two or three in the morning to make sure that we did not get behind (they actually gave me a key to the dorms so that I could come in after the dorms were closed). Those were fun days.

"The appropriate way to deal with this is through the criminal courts" or words to that effect.

Glad the judges noticed this and confronted Trump's lackeys with this obvious contradiction.
