Trump and the "Religion Connection"

I'm sure some at DU already know this, but I hadn't remotely considered it...

I was thinking about why a sensible, sane, God-fearing individual could possibly support Donald Trump for another term when Trump is the antithesis of a sensible, sane, God-fearing personality. So, I Google searched 'bible scripture references for Donald Trump' (something like that) and came up with several.

In a nutshell, the religious radical right has decided God chose Trump to make America great again.

I cannot comprehend how anyone could come up with that degree of asininity to excuse Trump or worse, dare to.

2. Racism. Pure and simple. Sure it's wrapped around religion

but it all boils down to racism and bigotry. As Joy was pointing out what Robert Jones said, white evangelicals believe that this country is their God given right.

Those so-called “Christian’s” who support Trump are hypocritical heretics. They’re assholes who support Trump because he accepts their hatred’s and encourages those evil emotions.

4. There's misogyny, too.

One thing T**** and the fundagelicals have in common is hatred for women and male supremacy complex. It's never been about morality, or Jesus, or anything good. What they are all about is dark, evil and the complete antithesis of the Jesus I came to know in good part due to my grandmother - and if she were still alive and could see this, would be utterly horrified and heartbroken. 💔
