Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley hospitalized for infection

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2024/01/16/republican-iowa-chuck-grassley-90-hospitalized/72247798007/

Grassley, 90, is "receiving antibiotic infusions at an area hospital to treat an infection," his office said in a statement. "He is in good spirits and will return to work as soon as possible following doctors' orders.

Grassley’s spokesperson, Taylor Foy, said Grassley went to the hospital Sunday where they did tests to make a diagnosis and begin the infusions. That treatment is ongoing.

There was no way this seditious conspirator was going to finish his term. The plan was for him to quit and have COVID Kimmy appointment of the grandson at a time that would minimize losing the seat in a replacement election.

This asshat and McConnell can't die quickly enough.

the line of succession as he will no longer be the longest serving Republican in the Senate (or is it the longest serving Senator period, I forget)

So if POTUS, VPOTUS and Speaker are all gone, we wouldn't have to worry about the new guy, Republican or not becoming POTUS.

Regardless, it also takes all of the Senate Seniority away from that particular seat. Losing seniority means that state loses a little clout.

If the senate were to flip l, it would be Grassley or whoever the senate chose to put in as pro temp. It is usually the longest serving member of the majority party, but this congress as an example , Senator Feinstein was passed over for Senator Murray

If the President, VP and Speaker were gone at once I think we would be worrying about a lot of things more than who was 4th in line.

I did not mean we would have no worries.

The last part of my post is actually more pertinent
