(131,231 posts)There was a lot of incompetence, confusion and other serious failures, but this isn't a criminal investigation. No doubt there will be litigation, and whatever crimes any of the officers might have committed will be state crimes. If those things happen names of officers will be released; but if this isn't a federal criminal investigation there's no reason to release names in connection with it. Some of the officers will be found culpable at least of gross negligence but some might not be at all.

Garland is GOP; there are Democrats that could have been put in the job and done better.
The excuses are bullshit.
Garland has been politically compromised from Day 1.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
