The great American myth is that bullies always lose.

Some wimp steps out and, of course, beats up the bully. We've seen it in countless movies and TV shows. And we all believe it because it's part of our faith in humanity and human decency. -- Except that it's bullshit. -- Most of the time, the bully keeps on bullying and no one steps forward to end it. Yet it's one of our most enduring myths.

Donald Trump, is a bully (in addition to his countless other human flaws). Yet, few have stepped forward to beat him. And yes, Joe Biden defeated him at the polls in 2020. Yet, the bully has not gone away. Rather, he's become one of the greatest dangers to humanity in the present era.

Trump the bully doesn't play by rules. Democrats do. Trump the bully wants to be King Donald. Democrats want to prevent this. Trump the bully wants absolute control over humanity. Democrats want him gone from public life. Trump the bully doesn't want to be held accountable for anything. The rest of humanity doesn't want him to be our owner.

I've listened to many pundits tell us why Trump can't win the next election. It's all bullshit. No one knows who's going to win the next election. However, given the Electoral College and the corruption in red and many purple states, the next election sure as hell can be stolen.

All I've done here is state the obvious. I've stated what many millions of voters already know, and what may come to be. But here are my questions. Why are we Dems always playing defense? Why are we Dems always the ones trying to prevent disaster? Why are we Dems the only ones who must protect our Constitution? Why don't our domestic enemies, the enemies of all of our freedoms and our country, fear us Dems as much as we fear their total control of us?

The answer is because we're playing by the rules. Let me state this as clearly as possible. It's time for us to bend the rules, and perhaps even break some. Why are we hobbling ourselves with rules that those who wish to dominate us completely ignore?

Just as a guess, whoever figured out how to make fire may well have been burned to death. Whoever figured out how to take shelter, may have been sealed into a cave. Seems that progress always comes with a price.

Well, we humans have already paid a high enough price to every dominating prick that came along over the thousands of years of existence. Time for us to stand together and say NO. And given that we now live in a nuclear world, this may be the last chance of those who can reason to take a stand. And (at least for now) put an end to the barbarians.

of much smaller boys that were for all the world like Trump's MAGA cultists. She lived near me so I would watch this debacle at the bus stop and while walking home. I assume she left me alone because I was a year ahead of her and just avoided her as much as possible, but no, I don't recall anyone countering her--even larger/older boys (and there surely must have been some). Apparently, she was a classic bully and I often wondered what became of her. Undoubtedly she was sufficiently athletic that perhaps someone focused her attention there when she hit high school--or maybe she ended up in "reform school..." But I certainly don't think she was "defeated."

So, short of an immediate sentencing to jail, I don't know what is going to stop our national bully (Trump) short of natural death or electoral defeat. It is the latter we have to work toward.

And find her. I did that for many of the people I hated, saw their photos read their online info/bios and laughed out loud.

History proves otherwise, both in politics and elsewhere. Anyone who has ever been the subject of bullying, particularly as a child in school, knows that's bullshit.

As for the rest of it, using Trump and the GOP as the basis for our own behavior is misguided. I have always found it a curious argument. Why should we emulate those we abhor? We should use fear to rule?

As you noted and then seemingly brushed away to make your argument, President Biden won in 2020. He didn't win because he was a bully who was going to rule by fear. Quite the contrary.

If all we're going to do is act like them, what would be the point?

Trump, his MAGA's, and the Republican Party control the concerns, worries and fears of far too many Americans. Their propaganda drowns out reality. Their bullshit makes Joe seem weak. They prop up their "King/God/Orange Jesus by backing his lies and fantasies.

They really are far superior to us when it comes to spreading bullshit far and wide.

Are we going to get into this fight? And, if so, when?

was found a few years after high school in the trunk of a stolen car in the Miami airport long-term parking lot. Ripe as a melon, so I heard. Drug deal gone wrong, apparently. If you wait by the river long enough, the bodies of your enemies will float past.
