Texans flock to social media to demand the state 'secede' after losing at Supreme Court

"Texas lost another case at the U.S. Supreme Court against President Joe Biden's administration.

In this case, the federal government is fighting the state's decision to put razor wire on the border that blocks U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers from being able to access migrants. The incident unfolded after three migrants died in the river between the U.S. and Mexico. The Border Patrol was prevented from being able to save the family, which included two children.

On Monday, the High Court ruled that the federal government decides border issues and not Texas. Now, residents are demanding that they be allowed to leave the United States altogether."

https://www.rawstory.com/texas-secede-border-ruling/

Let's see, Texas receives 68.2 BILLION dollars from the federal government, and when the next hurricane or national disaster happens, do they understand that FEMA is a FEDERAL PROGRAM?

True, but if you start transferring members and equipment your reducing their income and realize that there is more at issue
then making threats to succession. Years ago when I was in the service,23years, I would never go to TX. I stayed on ships before
I would go down there. If you start moving members and equipment out at a slow pace it will not be noticed till they realize what is going on.

She complains that she can't find a good gynecologist because the good ones have all moved, but she can fly to her parents home in the Boston suburbs and get great gyn care. A woman's health care should not be determined by how she can scramble to get the health care she needs. Flying to Boston takes time and effort, even if the money is not a problem. On DU, it's a constant topic of conversation. Seemingly, a lot of people have no idea that Texas can't secede.

In Texas, it's just the same 20% who've been bleating about secession since 1869. They bleat, they die, they get replaced. The overall % hardly ever changes. We generally just ignore them.

by all the talking heads in all of this is that the Federal government has control so that you have uniformity of regulations. If you didn't have uniformity and each state was able to make it's own rules and enforcement you would have an uncontrollable hodgepodge from state to state. The concept of uniformity is also found in other areas like defense, commerce, federal taxation, maritime law, aviation etc.

Can you imagine the chaos in the Gulf of Mexico if Texas and Florida decided to have all their own maritime laws and their own Navies/Coast Guard? Because the simple and quick answer shoots down all of the MAGA crap about taking things into their own hands is precisely the reason the media doesn't bother with it. It would cut down on their ability to have segments with people hollering at each other. Displaying tension, anger and disputes gets eyeballs on the program and that means ratings and bigger dollars for ad revenue.

Facilities,etc as punishment.

I wonder if their banks FDIC insurance could just be removed since they plan to secede? With no insurance the banks would quickly fail and there would be a depression style rush. The same screaming to secede would be the same begging to come back.

And for those who say they have oil they can sell is it with an actual business in Texas or somewhere in the US? Most countries wouldn't dare buy from Texas if they thought it would bring about our wrath.

I don't think it would be hard to strike back. I just feel bad for the millions who keep their heads down and try to survive instead of the loud blowhards we always follow.
