(18,464 posts)... have jumped the fence and joined the Orange Menace for president come 2024.
It seems they are enthralled by the alpha male shtick - Reality TV theatrics - former president pantload projects.
It makes me vomit a little bit in the back of my throat to see people of color support and endorse the shit stink Fascist buffoon.

male or female, who have anything but disgust at trump and magats. And this sentiment was re-enforced strongly during just past holiday gatherings.
It's false hype promoted by magats through disinformation and manipulated polls.

The Evidence Mounts: Hispanic Voters Are Drifting Toward the GOP

The day before (and after) Donald Trump was indicted on 37 federal counts, he chose to devote his time to outreach among Latino voters, giving interviews and visiting a local Miami restaurant. This is not surprising given the surge in Hispanic support he enjoyed in his 2020 reelection bid. He obviously wants to build on that support in 2024.
Can he or another Republican candidate do so? To answer this question, it is first necessary to understand the scale and breadth of the Hispanic shift toward the GOP in 2020. Start with Florida, where Trump won half the Hispanic vote, surging among Republican-leaning Cuban Americans and Puerto Ricans and other Hispanics.

(69,096 posts)The media makes a big deal out of it and ridiculous stereotypes are trotted out.
Meanwhile. The truth is that without Black voters in 2020, Trump would have been reelected.
If we're going to point fingers at racial/ethnic groups and accuse them of stereotypical beliefs, let's start with white people. I'm white - a lifelong Democrat - but I absolutely think there's something wrong with a lot of white people in the U.S. Too many of us are racist, ignorant, and fearful. Let's start with that.

Black men voted Democratic in the high 80s percentile...always have. Toms not welcome.

(115,186 posts)I have been trying for years to get them to vote for Dems. It hasn't worked.
It may because we're in a rural area, I don't know. I keep trying though.

(69,096 posts)In election after election after election, African Americans and Latinos show up and vote for Democrats.
It's white people - a demographic to which I belong - who voted for Trump. White people vote for Republicans.
We need to stop complaining that a small number of non-white people vote Republican and confront the fact that a majority of white people are the ones putting Republicans like Trump in power.

(18,464 posts)The point being trDUMP is making major inroads in the vote of people of color to switch to the GOP with their vote.
In many swing states where Biden won over trDUMP the margin was tissue paper thin amounting to less than 10,000 votes.
Democratic messaging must include the ability to communicate that GOP support for people of color is a charade. Dems will and do enact policies to advance the Asian, Hispanic, and Black communities. Dems walk the walk - not just promise the sky and deliver zero like the ReThugs. Don't fall for the GOP happy talk.

(69,096 posts)I have no idea what you mean about "falling for GOP happy talk." Is there any GOP happy talk?
It's simply false that Trump is making "major inroads" with Black voters. It is true that Hispanic voters are leaning Republican more than before. It is true that Democrats can't take anyone for granted and must get out the vote with strong messaging.
I will not stand by and allow the fact that a majority of white voters always vote Republicans be ignored. We white people have work to do with our families, friends and neighbors. We need to stop counting on people of color to save our democracy, and worst of all, blaming THEM for lost elections when it's our demographic that always votes Republican.
Fix our own house.

(18,464 posts)Senator Tim Scott of South Carolina is the walking, talking, and trDUMP is the Messiah of the USA defender.
Check out this Roland Martin clip addressing this very issue.
Many people of color fall for this bullshit. The 18 to 40 demographic is especially susceptible because they only focus on political issues superficially and in passing - but often not in depth.
The Democratic Party can not afford to lose any voters for Biden. In 2020 Biden won many of the swing states by razor thin margins.
The messaging from the Dem Party needs to be taken up a notch to clearly explain how much Biden has done to make vast improvement for minority communities rather than fall for and blindly believe trDUMP'S lies.

(69,096 posts)Most people of color don't believe Trump and never have. It's the majority of white people who believe Trump. Since we're in the majority, numbers wise, we white people are the biggest problem.
