E. Jean Carroll trial - tfg walks out of courtroom during closing arguments

The jury was brought in after a late entrance from the defense.

Kaplan said the jury will hear closing arguments from both sides this morning, set to last between two and three hours total. He said he expects the jury can deliberate during lunch later this afternoon.

Kaplan gave instructions before closing arguments, including those present to refrain from "interruptions or audible comments" during lawyers' remarks. Trump has been reprimanded several times for speaking while others were presenting.

Trump walked out of the courtroom during Carroll's lawyer's closing arguments in which her lawyer Roberta Kaplan directly criticized his actions during the trial saying that he "spent the entire trial continuing to engage in defamation".

Kaplan noted the incident in the record.

In a tense exchange over entering some social media posts into evidence, Kaplan told Habba that she was "on the verge of spending some time in the lockup" and told her to "sit down".

to file the appeal to the first case.
If that is true he will have to post the amount the jury decides if he wishes to appeal the damages in this case.

So the money is there for the first case, and will have to be there for a second appeal.

The ones I've been on would have held that walking out crap against that person. The jury knows that what Trump did was theatrical and rude. And a lot of them find it offensive when the lawyers or litigants act out.

The civil trails I was on had very mild acting out. A lawyer threw his pencil on the table when he gave his closing argument. One of the people who had claimed a loss, sitting at the table by the lawyer, tried to act angry but came off silly instead.

I never really cared if they acted out. But a lot of the jury was quite angry when either side acted rude or melodramatic or silly. They notice everything and acting out will not go over well with the jury.

The MAGAs on the jury are not going to be the majority. Maybe some lone MAGA juror won't find it offensive but some of the members will and they are going to talk about it amongst themselves. If the MAGA tries to defend Trump, he's going to get a serious arguments from the other jurors.

All these theatrics won't go over well at all with most jurors. They notice and they will talk about it.

In a video posted in the early hours today, Trump reiterated his denials of the allegations against him, calling the trial "a scam" and a "political witch-hunt."

Many of the statements in the video were things that he was prohibited from saying in his testimony yesterday. The video ended with instructions to donate to his campaign.
