(46,228 posts)That doesn't mean he won't lose some or all of those cases. But comparing the outcome of a civil case arising from a sexual assault to criminal cases arising from classified documents or interference with elections is comparing apples and oranges. Among other things, the standard for conviction in a criminal case is "beyond a reasonable doubt" while it is merely "preponderance of the evidence" in a civil case. In addition, the lawyers representing him in the criiminal case are better than Habba (admittedly a low bar).

(34,852 posts)Trump won't testify in a criminal case. Plus that case is going through the criminal system and is moving very slowly. Who knows what will happen with that case? Plus the USSC and other Trump appointed judges are involved.
Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
