Anchorage municipal and school board candidates set for spring election

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - The deadline to file for mayor, Assembly and Anchorage School Board is closed as of 5 p.m. Friday.

Mayor Dave Bronson, the incumbent, will have nine challengers on the ballot in April. Those include former Anchorage Assembly Chair Suzanne LaFrance, former Anchorage Economic Development Corporation head Bill Popp and former Alaska House Majority Leader Chris Tuck.

Also on the ballot for the mayor’s office will be former WWF wrestler Nick Danger; Dustin Darden, a perennial candidate; Phil Isley, who ran for Anchorage School Board in 2020 for Seat D; Breck Craig, who ran for the U.S. Senate as an independent against Lisa Murkowski in 2016; Darin Colbry, who ran nonpartisan in 2022 against Randy Sulte for Anchorage Assembly Dist. 6, Seat J; and Jenny Di Grappa, the chief of philanthropy and community relations at the Food Bank of Alaska.
