Two Canadians planned to conduct assassinations in the U.S. on behalf of Iran's intelligence services, according to allegations in a newly unsealed indictment.

The suspects are accused of plotting to shoot a man and woman living in Maryland, one of them a defector from Iran.

The charges unsealed Monday by the U.S. Department of Justice include details of the alleged plot, including the sum the would-be killers had charged for the job: $350,000 US.

................

The indictment identifies one Canadian suspect as Damion Patrick John Ryan, a full-patch member of the Hells Angels criminal gang who allegedly assembled a team of gunmen in late 2020 and early 2021. He was allegedly working with another Canadian, Adam Richard Pearson, who was living illegally in Minnesota at the time.

There's nothing in the article saying whether or not they are.

If this is true, then there's going to be blowback on Iran for this.

they need to be extradited to the US to face charges here and if convicted, spend the rest of their miserable lives in the SuperMax prison in Florence, CO.

You made the statement of "blow back" and posited there won't be any given history. Should they be arrested and taken into custody? Absolutely. Don't get where you are getting the implication I was advocating their release. Switch to de-calf?

Wait, I thought that 40 years ago and nothing's changed my mind.

Just like I wasn't in Russia's "pocket" 40 years ago--briefly agnostic in the '90s with the drunkard El'tsyn. But Bush II's "looked in his
[ Putin's ] eyes" and Obama's "reset" were both pure idiocy, and the Crimea response in '14-'15 was carefully calibrated to not offend and ensure loss and continuation.

Supremacists are never all that reasonable. Whatever their species.
