(35,075 posts)Personally speaking, I would take my 83 mil and leave the stage (until I had to re-sue again). It's better that way. Don't feed the trolls.

(7,654 posts)so you've got the only honest opinion then huh? The rest of us are just fakers?
Is that your position, because that's a pretty ridiculous thought process and fairly arrogant.

(23,175 posts)when I got a settlement, it was unreal. The settlement did not undo physical damage, emotional loss, so side by side with vindication, well, it was an odd place to be. I think E. Jean Caroll is managing the roller coaster with grace and aplomb.

(42,770 posts)saw her? Know CNN. Didn't know I'd be on witness stand with someone asking for dates and times and venues.
I am just a simple Dem, who saw her on TV tonight and my immediate optic reaction was that she appeared completely out of it. To ME, a Dem. Period. PARAGRAPH. Agree or dont agree.
On this simple gut reaction.

(1,416 posts)but I imagine she must be emotionally and physically exhausted. She just very publicly endured a spotlight that prevents many rape survivors from ever confronting their rapist. And she did it for just reasons.
I'd hope she'd smoke a celebratory joint and simply enjoy the catharsis of it all for a day or two at least.

(1,416 posts)you are catching a bit of misplaced flak. The OP reads like an exclamation of "omg, this old lady is drunk on tv!" I think what you were saying is that you're worried about her because she's been through hell (and you've quite possibly been through things yourself, so you know she's been through it) and you're worried she might embarrass herself in front of a predatory media?
IOW, you're worried about her well-being? Or *are* you being judgey?
E Jean Carroll deserves one hell of a lot of respect.

(42,770 posts)She sounded bad. Like she was drugged. Immediate, honest reaction from a Dem.

(60,968 posts)I would go with EUPHORIA.
After hearing Rachel Maddow's description of her long career, I think what was seen was coming from her quirky sense of humor, that likely was carefully controlled over the course of the trials.
I was also struck by her seriousness in describing that she was also fighting for the many women who were also hurt.

(100,133 posts)Theres nothing at all wrong with E Jean Carroll. She is a warrior and she has been through a war. She and her lawyers are absolutely ready to have at Trump again as soon as he opens his trap again.

(42,770 posts)Actually know her background, her perseverance already.
My ONLY point was that she looked bad on TV tonight and if I noticed it ALL the MAGAts will too.

(132,440 posts)I noticed that her voice is a bit hoarse, but then, so is mine if I have to speak for more than a few minutes, and Ms. Carroll has had to do a great deal of speaking these last few days.
Maybe a nice movie, a comedy, is in order.

(4,598 posts)Wickedly funny, eloquent, elegant, quite naughty, sometimes nasty. She is really one of a kind, and the temporary dimming of her spirit after her experience was very sad.
But she's indomitable. Tough as nails and twice as sharp. She's a grande dame.
