Political and Religious Experts Say Evangelical Support for Trump is About More Than Abortion

I just can not understand .....My mind is racked with understanding WHY? What do they see in him?
Only thing I know is they want all illegals kicked out of the country. I can understand not wanting more in. But the ones here are making this country. They are hard at work around me. They are working the roads, working in chicken plant around here where others don't want to work. Many are doing good. I know we have some who are bringing in drugs, and are bad people. But most of them are good, raising families, fixing up old home.
I just can not understand what people see in Trump.

Believe me, it’s racism. John Roberts is full of crap, and he knows it. Racism is far from dead. Except in their hearts.

Sent by gawd to facilitate his will even though #Traitor is deeply flawed. Like David, he’s gross but they’ll stick with him cause he’s doing the Lord’s will.

It’s totally fucked up but once an evangelical gets hooked into that cult thinking it’s almost impossible to shake them loose

This has always been the case with many fundamentalist religious sects. They thrive on being told what to think and do by someone they are convinced has a link to God. It doesn't matter if the someone acts the opposite of Christ because they truly believe God is telling their leader to behave that way for a reason. Jesus will bring them salvation only if they adhere to what leaders tell them to think and do.

So it becomes ok to support a gluttonous blasphemous serial adulterer that lusted after his own daughter and bragged about sexual escapades with women he wasn't married to. It's ok if this person belittles the meek, refuses to feed and cloth the poor, and steals to enrich himself. It is all somehow part of God's plan and they will be rewarded for being obedient.

That's why they support TFG and White Nationalism. It's a cheap and easy rush, and they give up all personal responsibilities to the group leadership.
They just go with their lizard brain, like a group three-year olds at a playground with a big box full of candy left unattended on a nearby bench.

They have a very narrow and specific world view and it does not involve women being equal to men, LGBTQ people existing, and other religions or no faith having equal status and dignity. Trump has made noise about openly advantaging Christianity, even though he has no real intention to do so and has no real idea of what that would even mean. The people who have enjoyed status historically but are now being challenged by the growth in civil rights and civil liberties and the waning influence of religion in general, feel oppressed. They are looking for anyone willing boost Christian Theocracy as long as it is in their favor.

Blind obedience to a leader, truth is what supports the leader ("alternative facts" ), anyone who is not a follower must be despised or eliminated, critical thinking skills are evil - the stronger your belief in the face of facts, the better you are.

I honestly believe that some religious leaders BELIEVE God chose TFG. All followers got in line. (Actually WANT the end of times, (for some crazy fucking reason) They ALL forget the bible passages that describe FALSE PROPHETS!! THIS along with thinking God wants them to KILL abortion doctors. Hell these crazies believe anything that their pastors tell them anymore.

To me it really is a political movement. Not a religion. What they see in drumpf is the realization of their political goals. Steeped in racism and hatred of women, and wrapped in the flag of God to make it seem legit.

Mostly composed of hugely wealthy preachers getting poor people to give them more and more money, in the name of Jesus. Don talks like them, acts like them, and cultivated them. People conned by one conartist are generally a good target for another.

They still want to end abortion at the state level where its still legal in some places.

Criminalize LGBTQ and force them into rehabilitation clinics.

End birth control.

Push segregation back in. And not just people of color, but women to. Send them back to get permission for a credit card and just be baby mills or objects for their gratification.

Create a type of single religion and push out all the others.

Prayer and "Bible" study in school.

etc.

They have an agenda Roe was just the first step.

Think. Again.

He does whatever they tell him to do as long as he gets money and gets elected.

Seriously, if you have not been following the Christian Dominionist movement, it's very important to understand what's going on. They are very well organized and holding mass meetings all over the country to take over local government, school boards, elections offices, etc. to usher in theocracy. Trump is their ticket to power.

...today’s Christian right is a very real and very well-funded and highly organized institutional movement to end real democracy and create a White Christian theocracy in America and then around the world.

Dominionism “is the theocratic idea that Christians are called by God to exercise dominion over every aspect of society by taking control of political and cultural institutions.” For me, evangelical Trump supporters hold to “dominion” as their political theology of power. Now for Christians to exercise “dominion,” they need to be mobilized to action. This is the purpose of the “7 Mountain Mandate,” a marketing strategy popularized (but not invented) by Lance Wallnau, a Pentecostal Christian businessman, regarded as a prophet, an apostle, and a teacher, to mobilize Christians into action and occupy top roles in the spheres (or mountains) of government, education, business, family, arts & entertainment, media, and religion. Dominion will be implemented, when “kingdom-minded” Christians are positioned at the head of these cultural mountains.
