https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/man-checks-into-rehab-after-three-kansas-city-chiefs-fans-found-dead-in-his-backyard/ar-BB1hzTi7A Missouri man who claimed to have fallen asleep after a party to celebrate a Kansas City Chiefs win while his friends froze to death in his backyard, has reportedly checked into rehab.
Jordan Willis, 38, is facing his addiction head-on, a source close to the family told Fox News Digital, calling the deaths of his friends an enormous wakeup call.
The incident occurred in early January when three of Mr Willis friends arrived at his residence hoping to continue celebrating the Chiefs victory against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Clayton McGeeney, 36, David Harrington, 37, and Ricky Johnson, 38, were last seen alive that night 7 January. Mr Willis reportedly went to bed and had no knowledge that his friends had died until police showed up at his door on 9 January and eventually found the frozen remains.
-----------
Mr Picerno said it was a mystery how the three bodies went undiscovered for two days.

The investigation remains ongoing, though family members of the deceased have expressed their frustration at the current lack of answers over their loved ones deaths.

The one thing that LE has been fairly emphatic about is that this is not being investigated as any stripe of foul play. Occam's razor saying far and away the best 'explanation' here - is a bad batch of toot.

Because these people were football fans, and are out in the suburbs - it's now somehow 'different'?

(29,511 posts)Most people wouldn't care if it was three black homeless men who ODed and froze to death. If anything, it would make the news for a cycle then nothing.

(34,852 posts)All three in the yard for several days and homeowner was fine and didn't know about it.
It seemed suspicious.
Three homeless guys dead together would also be suspicious.
One homeless guy would not. Even if one, they would still do the autopsy and tox.
I don't know if they will try to trace the drugs. Since they have a survivor, they can likely trace it.

(29,511 posts)He was fucked up and luckily did not go outside. He probably made up a sketchy batch of drugs and they ODed.

(12,046 posts)...laced with fentanyl and when it kicked in they were all too fucked up to make it back inside. Meanwhile their host, who was lucky enough to pass out on the couch inside slept off the bender for 2 days while they froze to death.

(24,434 posts)My guess is all 4 did some lines. These 3 were smokers who decided to go have a cigarette and fell out otuside. The guy who survived made it to his bedroom and slept for a very long time, half ODing himself, but woke up fine. Fentanyl ODs slow the heart to a very slow rate, the cold would slow it further.
Terrible tragedy. Millions of poeple use coke on the weekends and don't have a problem, the fact that coke now might come with fentanyl in it is a bad bad thing.

Sad situation, but the families insisting they didn't do drugs look like deep deniers. To do those kinds of heavy drugs doesn't seem like a first time user situation.

(32,599 posts)When I posted my comment, it was based on the report that they had cocaine in their blood. Fentanyl is the likely cause of death, I would think.

(29,511 posts)VERY high levels of fentanyl, with high level of coke and some THC. Some, coke laced with way too much fentanyl. They went outside to smoke weed or a cigarette and ODed and froze to death.

(29,511 posts)They went outside to smoke or whatever, did a bump of coke, it was laced with too much fentanyl, and they died. Dude inside luckily didn't do as much stayed inside, and so was in a drug dump on his couch for two days instead.
The authorities are not considering it as murder. I understand the families' griefs, but they did to quit blaming teh homeowner/leaseholder. He didn't force his friends to do bumps.

We were all drinking and heavy on the Rumplemintz. This guys hot tub wasn't great in really cold temps so it didn't stay hot enough for most of us. We went inside by the fire to smoke some weed and dry off, but two guys stayed out there.
After a little while, they thought it would be a good idea to pull the cover over them, stay in there and let it heat back up. About the time they needed another drink, they tried to lift the cover off and it had frozen shut! Not too long after they realized their predicament, we all came back out.
Those guys were yelling for help, and we just stood there laughing! Obviously, we could save them easily with all of us. They finally agree that if they stand up in a crouched position and push with their legs, they could bust the cover loose and they did! Boy, were they pissed when they saw all of us standing there laughing! LOL Yup. good buddies. Good times! LOL
