https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13035575/kansas-city-chiefs-fans-dead-cocaine-drugs.htmlThree Kansas City Chiefs fans frozen and dead outside a HIV scientist's home had ingested triple the amount of fentanyl needed to kill, it is claimed.
David Harrington, 37, Ricky Johnson, 38, and Clayton McGeeney, 36, were found dead and frozen in Jordan Willis' backyard in Kansas City, Missouri, on January 9.
Initial toxicology information on the three men suggest traces of cocaine, THC and fentanyl, according to TMZ and NewsNation. A family member told one reporter the men tested Level 30 for fentanyl, triple the amount needed to kill them.

(76,706 posts)That's a lot of drugs at the same time.
Lots of loose ends, too.
Not sure what being Chiefs' fans has to do with anything, though.

Fentanyl is used to cut cocaine.
The dealers or whoever cuts it do not give a damn and the mixing is not precise so anyone can get more or less cocaine/fentanyl in one use. Too much fentanyl in one 8 ball or whatever they purchase can lead to a quick death. Many in Seattle have odd this way.
The story of these three broke during the below 0 days around the time Chiefs played Miami. I think that is the only reason it made news as Chiefs fans. I follow the story and basically my take is they had been at the game, and the temps were national news so Chiefs fans freezing became the headline.
I dont do coke but I know many (unfortunately) that do and I lecture them heartily about this. They dont listen. Damnit 💀

We were big & popular as a club act in the Chicago market.
Guessing who doesn't matter. We're nobody you heard of outside the Chicago market.
Sorry for the confusion.

Fantastic & moderately lucrative hobby. But, just a hobby.
In case you haven't heard these in the past, here's one set of what I have online. This is not a band. I'm doing everything.

(76,706 posts)That one is the truest to the original. It's slower & all the guitar parts are different, but still pretty faithful.
The other; not so much.

(115,186 posts)I bet they thought they were enjoying cannabis and cocaine and had no idea that deadly levels of fentanyl had been used to cut the cocaine.
The drug war is a tragic deadly joke.

(38,729 posts)I don't know anyone that buys weed on the black market in WA. why bother?
obamanut2012
(29,369 posts)Maybe some of the unhoused without ID, or those who aren't legally allowed to buy weed, but that's it.
maxsolomon
(38,729 posts)i mean, i guess, but that's probably aspirational, and not realistic during the fentanyl crisis. you can't replace opiates with weed.

(1,416 posts)States are gouging the medical marijuana industry. It's cheaper on the street. There was an article about this in New York today.
maxsolomon
(38,729 posts)That's less than it was pre-decriminalization. Must be an issue in other states.
In the New York Times today?

Would be nice if it were covered by medical insurance. They'll pay for opiods but not MM for chronic pain.

I have a handful of friends who still partake and they've been bitching about it for close to a year since most of them are ex-heroin addicts. The amount of fentanyl has gradually been getting larger and larger.
