'Unions built the Middle Class. ' Ask Lindsey and Jared, public school teachers.

Lindsey Rogers, 27, and her husband, Jared, public school teachers in Baker City, Ore., saw their household income double at the start of this school year, rising by around $48,000, because of mandated salary increases in their new union contract. Their school district in rural Eastern Oregon in previous years struggled to fill open positions, but started this school year without a single vacancy because teacher pay jumped significantly, said Erin Lair, superintendent of Baker School District.

For the Rogers family, the pay increase means they can afford the $750-a-month child-care costs for their new baby.

“We sat down at a union meeting on Zoom, and they pulled up our new pay scale and it was life-changing,” Rogers said. “I was in shock. We were both in tears. We were going to be able to provide a great life for our kid. We were actually going to be paid like professionals.”

People will never know everything he's done for the middle class. His economy is built from the ground up and these union deals you see more and more of are the natural result. Workers are dialing back the clock to a time when people could afford the American Dream by working a normal job.

That's what Reagan cut off at the roots.

Biden is rebuilding the middle class at a faster pace than anyone thought possible.

The UAW new contracts are front and center. Raises that put workers at a level that makes a massive life difference. COLA raises.

I'm 51 years old, I grew up in a neighborhood filled with union members. This is getting us back to that time, when good nieghborhoods were filled with blue collar workers who could afford a life for their families. He's not done, but wow has he made some incredible progress in just 3 years.

And I believe the torch can be passed to a new generation. And it has to be. IMO AI will make unionisation essential.
