I had a gut feeling two events that happened today might be coincidental if not linked

We are, today, February 2, 2024, attacking multiple Iran-centric targets in retaliation for the deaths and woundings at Tower 22 in Jordan.

Also today the three soldiers killed in the Tower 22 attack returned to the United States with the solemn, and yes, tear inducing Dignified Transfer ceremony at Dover Air Force Base.

I know there is no strategic linkage between today's two events. But I can't help but think there might be some moral linkage between the two. And if not, it is still a poetic coincidence.

Even as today starts what I hope will be a punishing, decimating series attacks on Iran's proxies, our diplomats are engaged in the region, working to bring peace to benefit everyone.

It also seems to me there are efforts underway to work around Israel's leader to craft a peace in Gaza.

It is all very complicated.

As a nation, we are fortunate that we can and will benefit from the wisdom and experience of Joe Biden. I can think of no one else I'd want to be in his seat, not even our own past Democratic presidents.

" I can think of no one else I'd want to be in his seat, not even our own past Democratic presidents. "

No one can match is resume, breadth of experience. He's seen government from top positions for 50 years. He's always tried to make government work. He knows politics, economics, diplomacy, budgeting, and has access to the highest, best, most experienced minds in the world. He understands people great and small of all colors and persuasions. He must manage his staff and operation extremely well. It just doesn't get any better.

In spite of the cold war and the threats from the USSR, the USA has not had to fight in a third world war. That is because enemies of the USA knew that they would lose more by attacking it than they could gain. That only works if we don't start appeasing our enemies when they attack us.
The USA has tried to negotiate with Iran and even now is not attacking Iran, despite Iran's funding of the terrorists who did attack us. The military response against the Iran funded terrorists has nothing to do with ruling the world. Most of the nations where they are don't want them there.
