Were I they, I would not have made the revealing, fatuous, and politically and constitutionally cynical, concluding argument that the former president and his lawyers made to the Supreme Court in their Reply Brief today.

If we loose the courts we are finished. I almost believe this is a fiat a compli.
The coup has continued all this time. The insurrection is still happening, only now it has moved to the courts.
Our only remaining hope, is that the billionaire class that has the SCOTUS in its pocket decide that TSF is bad for business.
Talk me down.

It's essentially time shifting jurisdictional rulings. Thread-the-needle justice to let the biggest crooks through.

So to them, there isn't any.

(54,536 posts)weasel out of kicking trump off ballots, which as originalists they should not as the 14A, Sec. 3 is self-executing. There's no wiggle room really. Not even the argument that he didn't participate in the Capitol riot as Sec. 3 also includes the phase of "giving aid and comfort" to the insurrectionists...which he did by watching it for more than 3 hours without calling in forces to stop it.
He's guilty as hell.
