Does it feed into the right-wing narrative? Sure, but why should we care? They were already exaggerating well beyond anything that's being reported here, and this isn't going to sway anyone who understands that no one is perfect and that everyone has moments.

We spend way too much time obsessing about what the right-wing thinks and about how they might interpret events. The truth is that it doesn't matter. They're going to find something to exaggerate or make up regardless of current events.

I will guarantee you will hear about it many more times between now and the election because Donald Dipshit will constantly bring it up every time any news related to his similar case occurs, which means every news network will report on it and have pundits from "both sides" on discussing the matter.

Have you not watched politics recently?

This bullshit report was crafted specifically to be used politically against Biden and in Trump's favor (not only in its attacks on Biden but for the bullshit reasons they list for why they didn't charge Biden, which you can guarantee Trump and his team will point to as to why they should also never have been charged, e.g., the point about Biden having just left office and not fully understanding of the rules regarding classified documents, etc.).

We're not even just talking politically, in which case if you've watched any of the news at all today, you can see how everyone is reporting this EXONERATION of Biden as a negative.

Just think of the implications legally. If you don't think the reasons that this MAGA Special Counsel laid out for exonerating Biden will be copy and pasted directly into Trump's legal briefs and brought up repeatedly during his actual case, I don't know what to tell you. Maybe be a little more cynical and less idealistic (naive even). I have no doubt that it was intentionally crafted this way to be used in this exact way.

Fri Feb 9, 2024, 03:33 AM
Feb 2024

The quotes were cherry-picked and highly edited into short snippets of a few words that were used to paint Biden in the worse light by a MAGA Special Counsel. They take Biden speaking out loud his train of thoughts and use that as if he is forgetting everything. Has someone ever asked you about something and you said something along the lines of, "when did that happen? I think it was around the time that I left that one job, so about 2013, right?" Well imagine if someone then tried to imply that you forgot when you left a job because of that rather than simply chalking it up to you talking a timeline out loud, trying to remember a date based off of another event. It's disingenuous shit expected from a MAGA Special Counsel, but to hear fellow Democrats buy into this nonsense is disheartening to say the least.

I mean, do you really think Biden forgot when his son, Beau, died? Because that is also what this MAGA Special Counsel is claiming.

There were attempts to protect the president by shredding documents and building a false narrative in which the National Security Council had gone rogue. The OIC looked at charging Reagan but, by the end, didn’t have enough evidence. Reagan was deposed in 1990, saying “I don’t recall” or “I can’t remember” 88 times.

...it's on DU more than it's on the news.

Somehow people think it's some sort of political genius to take the negative stuff republican motherfuckers put out and not only spread it among their own blogs, but anguish over it like it's so unbearable and indefensible as to make desperate conservative hacks look like giants instead of windmills.

I don't get how people think this is a smart or strong posture against these predictable, petty attacks, as if they're unassailable and can't be easily countered.

This strident republican demagogue's exoneration of Biden carries more political weight in this election than would the findings of any SC whose affinity or consideration for Democrats would be endlessly questioned.

Here, we have a perfect, unassailable exoneration from a right winger and some folks are acting like we lost something. Unfuckingbelievable.

You've posted the demeaning stuff in a headline in all-caps and it will appear in the Google search leading with that pessimism, and you're complaining about the salacious attack's dissemination.

It is not a crime to be forgetful. It is not a crime to be older. It IS a crime to: you know, all of that stuff Donny "Two Scoops" did. I feel infinitely safer with a leader who has strong morals, years of experience, happily married with a dog and a cat. Our country is: not being laughed at, not going broke, not being invaded, not in danger of having war visit us any more than usual, all things that Donny is claiming currently. Of course, this is old schtick from 2015.

We have a good leader, a good back up leader, and a cadre of dedicated Congress people any one of which can out govern any Repub on any day. We are solid. All they have is Captain Chaos. Anyone who votes for tRump is a FOOL.

Well, it's nice that the SP who wrote the report decided that Joe has done nothing to indict. The SP can't take that back. They couldn't find anything to impeach him on, and they still don't have anything! Hah hah, the joke's on them. I'll take Joe Biden any day of the week over the Orange Turd.

"Dictator for a day?" If he gets in, we will have no country. It's not like MAGA haven't been warned. And, when they get old and forget a birthday, or where they put the car keys, they can decide how important it is compared to a guy handling multiple war responses all over the planet, while battling the various problems created for him by the GOP.

Joe's a winner. tRump is not.

He's 80-odd. WTF does anyone expect.

But Joe Biden is an honest, humble man, who knows his limitations and his time. Right now Joe Biden is the anti-trump. The US needs him to be this, no matter how old he is.

The dark brandon meme was a joke. Let it go. Joe is an old man with a wealth of experience and knowledge. A heartload of pain, empathy and understanding, and a genuine love of people.

Joe can defeat Trump. Let him be Joe, old, a bit forgetful, but that same honest battler you've known for years. He's still there.

So Trump has no advantage...It is The team behind Trump that will be dangerous, Biden has a good team that is the big difference.

After all, he has declared bankruptcy less often than leap years came in the twentieth century!

81. Biden's too nice a guy to do this, but if it were me I'd dig up some dirt on Hur. You know it's there!

And I'd plaster that EVERYWHERE.

And I'd enjoy doing it.

Therefore, our best option IMO is to quiet the chatter about it and let it die, otherwise we're just perpetuating it and give the other side fodder.
