I think they shot their wad prematurely

If they did this in October. Yeah I can see it being a problem. But in the early months of the 2024? I don't think it's going to matter much. They got a talking point for a bit but its moot once president Biden starts to campaign/debate/sotu address.

Our country has the attention span of a fucking gnat. It'll fade off into the background.

I think that the OP is correct. This will be in the new cycle for a bit, but there is so much going on that it will be replaced soon. People are not paying attention right now. Those of us who are immersed in politics are paying attention, but the average American is not.

Remember in 2016 Hillary was leading Trump by low double digits until the last 10 days of the election when the Comey report came out. Less than 2 weeks from election when people were primed and paying attention, especially in swing states. Right now, the Iowa Caucuses got something like 15% of Registered Republicans out. Those are the hardcore. The people who are currently engaged.

As the economy improves and Biden heats up his campaigning, people on our side will coalesce and as Trump's legal problems continue to hit, more people will be motivated to keep him out of office.

He's obviously thinking about Trump. He recommends indictment, he kneecaps Trump by opposing his immunity. But if he ever wants to get an appointment in a GOP administration, he needs to make up a sob story and blame a fictive jury of grandpa-pity. I've never seen fan fiction in these types of reports, but hey, it's what you have to do to stay viable in authoritarian times.

Agree, it passes in a few days.

as for this Comey-style hit job, allow me to paraphrase a line from the movie Hunt For Red October applicable to Robert Hur (and the MAGA cretins).."You arrogant ass, you killed *you!"..

If Dems fight hard, we can seize the upper hand that Republicans have held for 65 years.

Special Counsel is not a medical doctor. He's got no business opining on something outside his expertise, not having a medical license that would enable him to examine the object of his accusations, IF that opportunity were granted. I sure hope they sue the pants off him.

Or at least he can keep his hotheadedness under good control.

I do believe Putin pushed Biden's buttons big time with the Israeli attack and hoped that he could trick Biden into doing something foolish. Biden was too smart and didn't bite on the bait.

So it's easy to surmise that Biden does have a temper but he keeps it under good control. That said I think you can only push the man so far and he's gonna come out swinging. And when Joe Biden wants to fight you, you probably wanna think twice about starting that fight. The handsome Irish affable, charming, smiling, glad-handing man juxtaposed against the you can only push them so far or things take a turn for the worse.

GrOPper machine isn’t going to go quietly or quickly.

Look for these types of outbursts to swarm into the narrative every time things are about to turn south for their Mandarine Messiah. Which is going to be very often.

This case may have been “payback” for the alleged “sick f**k” comments. Which in itself was an attempt to muddy President Biden that blew back on the keystone kleptos when none other than John Bolton appeared on their very own propaganda networks nodding in vigorous agreement with the assessment of the deportment of Smelvis.

The GOP has a lot on the line, their power and wealth. Also many of the GOP leaders were directly involved in J6, and could face charges. I am sure that's weighing on their minds. So they will pretty much do anything to stay in power to avoid jail.

We also have a very desperate Putin, China and Trump.

Putin of course is in a great deal of jeopardy because of his invasion. China's economy is hitting free fall status and Xi has made so many mistakes I can't even list them all.

Plus China and Russia are completely convinced they will be the 21st-century global superpowers and they have to damage the Western democracies. Which they've been working on now for quite some time and been very good at it.
