Republicans block attempt to add rape, incest exemptions to Missouri's abortion ban

https://missouriindependent.com/2024/02/08/missouri-abortion-legislation-defund-planned-parenthood-defund/

As amendments aimed at legalizing abortion in cases of rape or incest were voted down, one Republican state senator defended the decision saying, ‘God does not make mistakes’

Republicans thwarted an effort to add rape and incest exceptions to Missouri’s near-total abortion ban on Wednesday but were unable to push a bill to bar Planned Parenthood from receiving Medicaid reimbursements to a vote.

Under Missouri law, abortion is illegal except in cases of a medical emergency when “a delay will create a serious risk of substantial and irreversible physical impairment of a major bodily function.”

This is the kind of issue we need to be hammering home from now until November (and until it's fixed).

Their daughters, wives, girlfriends will have the best healthcare money can buy.

"God" is an asshole and a total dick...and his mistakes have resulted in his followers murdering, raping(that's why rape isn't a mistake for these people), and torturing people.

Thanks again to 'progressives' like Nader and Stein for their reassurances that it matters not who chooses our SCOTUS justices.

If Trump is elected, take the most extreme abortion laws you can imgaine and go further, that;s what the GOP will work to implement nationwide. Up to and including the death panelty for women who have abortions, and internment in camps for prgrnant women the ruling party deems at risk for wanting abortions.

Republicans consider women & girls livestock, not humans. Forced breeding/pregnancy/childbearing under any circumstance is acceptable to them as it would be for any herd of cattle.

Inferring in commercial a 10 year girl getting raped and forcing her to carry the rapists child. She’s in 5th grade and now has to drop out of school to carry her rapists baby under Missouri law, is this what you want for your daughter?

Because it could happen to your daughter, niece, grandchild or sister.

...to the cops? And go through a sexual assault medical exam as well? All of that in order to procure an abortion?!

Oh, I forgot..."right to life" extremists are now trying to make this some kind of mainstream position. You can see it for yourself if you tune in radtrad Catholic networks like EWTN or Relevant Radio. And that kind of medieval thinking is found in the fundamentalist Protestant churches as well.
