(114,615 posts)It was 2+ hours of Putin trying to justify his invasion of Ukraine via a bunch of Medieval documents while completely ignoring the Budapest Memorandum and Tucker sitting there like a bump on a log, terrified to move or speak.
I don't think this will do much to boost his relevance, a department store mannequin would have served as well.
As for the worship of the strong man, it's all the kids who watched Star Wars and grew up with Darth Vader as their favorite character because he was a badass and they needed somebody stronger than they were on their side, never mind villains are only on their own side.
I don't expect such people to notice Putin is absolutely bonkers in the same way Hitler was totally bonkers. I don't expect them to notice TFG is a fat blowhard with nothing to back him up but a long list of crimes against law and decency. We still outnumber them. We have to outvote them, and in Putin's case, send enough help to defeat the Russians.
But this whole thing was worse than farce. I found myself almost feeling sorry for Tuck, he looked terrified. Almost. Part of me was still hoping his hotel room had been hosed down with Novichok.
