(28,836 posts)I get what you're saying and I agree that the spin is often ridiculous, but the "none of the above" votes on the R side in the primary were essentially Trump's voters, and Biden is effectively running unopposed. Phillips wasn't even on the ballot. Still more total votes for Biden, but hard to make an apples to apples comparison there.
Primary results also can't be easily extrapolated to represent general election intent, as hard as we might try.

(54,005 posts)the 48,000+ 'NOTA' primary votes (a symbolic vote that almost all was for Trump) that came from the earlier Rethug primary (NV Rethugs have a crazy 'Texas two-step' style system), one where Trump was not even on the ballot, thus affecting turnout as well.
No chance Biden doubles Trump's vote in the NV general (I am sure you know that). Trump has a fairly decent shot at winning NV in the general, unfortunately. Immigration is a huge issue there.
