The Special Counsel's report was a cheap shot
Hur is apparently a grossly partisan hack that couldn't keep his frustration at not being able to charge President Biden from boiling over. So, he went with the current right wing desire to paint Biden as a doddering old man whose failing memory makes him unfit for office.
That's all they've got now because the Republicans can't govern their way out of a paper bag.
A couple of things. The first is that this too shall pass. It'll blow over. Biden is not a feeble, doddering old man.
The second is that we all have issues with remembering exact dates.
I have to look it up every time I want to recall when my sister died. Have two sisters and only one died, but I can't ever remember the year or the month. I know that my mother died the very next year, but the month and the day? So, I have to look up first my eldest sister's obituary and then look up my mother's date of passing.
In reality, my mother passed just a few months after my sister. But those details elude me.
My father's death? Well, that one I can always remember. Because I was there when he passed. It was also just 4 days after my birthday. But something about having been there locked it into my brain and made it easy to recall.
This was the cheapest of cheap shots. I would like to see Biden's staff point out that this kind of naked partisanship is characteristic of the sort of people that Trump gravitated towards. We see it with Judge Cannon and we see it with Hur.
Trump didn't hire the best. Hur underscores that.
