No shame. No conscience.

Nixon and Trump had one thing in common. They were both shameless and believed that they were above the law.

Trump is different from Nixon in another respect. Nixon had a conscience. Trump does not. He can spout lies as if he were reading them from the Bible. He can claim immunity as if it was a God-given right. For his supporters, he does it so sincerely and so persuasively, they believe that every President in history has been hindered, in some way, because they did not have absolute immunity.

It doesn't matter how ridiculous and absurd are his claims. He does it shamelessly. Because he has no conscience.

When does it become insanity?

Act. And he could actually be persuaded to do the politically expedient thing and resign. He was also paranoid, ut nit compketely batshit.

I always remember one of my poli sci professors telling one of my classes that, impossible as it might seem to us at that moment, one day, there would be a president far worse than nixon. I would like to ask him his thoughts these last eight , almost nine, years.
