It ended up being a waste of money for me anyway. I was mainly keeping it so I could read articles posted here without having to worry about the paywall, and I was hardly ever doing that. So I canceled, and I really haven't missed it.

In the Seventies, the Post was the most liberal paper you could buy. (That's why my father hated it.) The Daily News was thought to be a tabloid of no value. Of course, the Post was purchased by Rupert Murdoch and we all know how that turned out. Now, here's the Times arriving to complete the course.

And that's why my late father (big European socialist) loved it so much.
Also, it now seems the NYT has reverted to their gung-ho Irag war days in their editorial posture.

Maybe we can find a black woman who will go have rallies and act like him. That's beneath VP Harris, but surely we can find someone else to do it. Maybe they can have sarcastic humor rallies all over the country. It might be a silly suggestion, but we should use a healthy dose of humor in the campaign. Put Trump on the defense.

I've heard from reliable sources overseas that he had Russian whores pee on him for 36 hours straight and he
never fell asleep the entire time. That's the kind of STAMINA MAGAts wished they had.

Not to mention vulgar, too!

If y'all would read the tweet all Stephen Robinson said is "The @nytimes published this and it’s not satire" and "This paragraph would shame North Korean state media".

He is what you call a "messenger". You see, the quotes are from the NY Times. Stephen Robinson does not write for the Times, he writes for Wonkette, a liberal political site, and he happens to be a liberal himself. What he is tweeting about is something he read in the NY Times, not something he wrote himself. Blaming Stephen Robinson for the NY Times atrocity would be akin to, say, maybe, blaming Iraq for 9/11.

Unless he is disliked so much for some other unspecified reason?

That is it. I will keep my Los Angeles Times subscription, they are a solid paper. Their editorial page is supportive of progressive causes and candidates. Ive had a hard time with NYT ever since the butter emails in 2016, but thought I should hang on... but this is the end... it makes me so fucking mad. And I let them know that in the section where they ask "Why are you leaving?"

Why the Age Issue Is Hurting Biden So Much More Than Trump
Both Donald J. Trump and President Biden are elderly men. But voters are much less likely to worry that Mr. Trump is too old to serve.

The "Biden is old, but Trump is criminal" narrative. That's how they're framing it, the choice that voters have. The NYT isn't the only one. They have to justify why Trump's bizarre behavior doesn't matter: he doesn't appear "old." At least that's the way the NYT is choosing to justify.
